im looking at a V5 that states 3 previous owners- makes this owner number 4 i assume.

but the v5, unde the address of the owner before the current one, says:

1.new at first reg
2.non transferable reg mark

does this mean the three previous owners were the one who bought it, then a reg plate change, then the one show above that then the current chap.....or is it 3+1 seperate owners?

it's separate mate..
3 prev owners your the 4th..

The number plate that is on the car, probably since first registered can't be transfered to another vehicle.

Easy as that

Is it on a Q plate? I've a feeling my Westfield's V5 says something about it having a non-transferrable reg. I guess it makes sense - the car can't ever have a date-related plate since it's made from bits of old cars of unknown origin.

When you transfer the plates off a car, the DVLC allocate you an age related plate (unless you buy another one to go on it) which usually isn't tranferrable to another vehicle.

No idea why, surely just paperwork?
