Where to get a listing of latest rock album releases?
Looking for a website out there for the above - currently trying to find some new chunes to play in the scoob...
Alternatively, what do people recommend in the hard rock/heavy metal genre? Current faves?

Woolworths online have a pretty decent music site...you can ask to lists of certain music genres.
Try Rob Zombie.... Living Dead Girl...is wicked (if that word still means what it used to mean !)

Tried the last Incubus album which wasn't bad, and quite like the Megalomanic (?) track which was playing on Kerrang a few weeks back.
Rob Zombie...now there's an idea ! Um...yeah, I still use "wicked" so we're okay there

Looks like I'll pick up "Past Present & Future" - pity www.CDNOW.com is gone as it was good for song samples. Anyone know if there's another site along the same lines?

CDnow was good because they had a related artist link which brought up a lot of bands not heard of over here.
Have a look for Three Doors Down, Third Eye Blind, Default, Hoobastank, Puddle Of Mudd and Fuel.
Haven't heard Incubus' latest, was a bit put off after the last one.
Dave.

Thanks guys, some good pointers there. I'll leave Puddle of Mudd alone as I got so fed up witht he geezers voice on the first album, I'm not sure I can stand another dose of that (same goes for that bloke from Nickleback).
SCOO8Y MAD - what bit of "hard rock/metal" didn't you understand ? Only joking m8 !
Hmm...Lost Prophets, I'll definitely take a look at that one, same with Hoobastank.
Anyone got Hatebreed's "The Rise of Brutality" ? Thoughts?

drumsterphil - knew I could rely on you for some good recommendations
Already have the DamagePlan album and "Through the Ashes of Empires" is one of my best loved CDs for quite a while, I reckon it's their best since "Burn My Eyes" - feckin great album !!
Sevendust is completely new to me (where have I been eh?) so I'll check out Animosity, cheers m8 !!
Purchases so far:
Lost Prophets "start something" - not bad, but I think it's something I'll need to grow into.
Rob Zombie - Past, Present & Future, definitely gets better the further into it you go and "Living Dead Girl" *really* is a killer track (sorry for the pun!) and best played loud, as witnessed by the locals at the DIY store here this morning!
Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society) - Stronger than Death. Ozzy's ex-axeman grabbed my attention when I was in the "Z" for Zombie rack. Haven't played it yet but I did like his Pride & Glory stuff so this should be okay.
Hatebreed - "The Rise of Brutality" - this is good, very good. Lots of shouty vocals and raging gee-tars...me likey ! Lots and lots !
Phantom - cheers for those ideas m8, they are all new to me so here's hopin' they are heavy, angry and loud !

Lost Prophets "start something' is a cool album. I bought the new wildhearts album today and its sounding good. loved the earth vs wildhearts album!! rock/metal seems to have a bit of a lapse at the mo! aerosmith have got a bluesy one out haven't they? copying bon jovi's 'bit left of right or something??

STi-Frenchie - no worries, m8! Been wondering about Hatebreed, so will have to check them out.
Sevendust are incredible - very original IMO and every album ROCKS! As previous, pick of the albums are Animosity, Sevendust, and the latest, Seasons, which is less metal than previous efforts but still a corker.
Happy listening!

Cheers drumsterphil - guess I'll be back down to the music store tomorrow then
Went out for a drive for a couple of hours earlier and also to get some listening in...the Zakk Wylde album isn't up to much, at least after the first listen Oh well, one stinker out of four isn't a bad success rate !
Lost Prophets is growing steadily on me but Hatebreed seems to be the pick of the bunch even if it does tend to get a bit "samey" towards the end.

'kin 'ell - picked up "Animosity" and it's pretty darn good - can't get "Sevendust" in the shops so will have to order it from Amazon. "Animosity" sounds a bit Linkin Park-ish in places.
Surprise purchase has to be Saliva's "Back Into Your System" which is very good indeed ! Thanks chaps !

Bought QOTSA's first album and played it maybe a dozen times before I got bored with it. How would you rate the new one against the first?

Sevendust is £16+p&p from Amazon.
£9.99 from Play, though not in stock.
You might want to consider Secondspin.com. It's an American site that sells second hand CD's but the ones I've ordered have always been in 1st class condition. The total price inc p&p comes to around £7.50.
Glad you liked Saliva.

Spineshank? Think I hear a bell ringing somewhere...also quite fancy some Soil as well. Time to do the credit card a little bit more damage methinks but I'll leave Linkin' Park off my list
Yup...melodic, that's the word I was after ! Not used to melody y'see

Cheers PFF sounds right up my street. Mate of mine lent me an album by Norwegian band TurboNegro yesterday...instantly likeable stuff if not the heaviest in the world.
