Default Road Angel or Snooper

Would like to upgrade my old radar detector once I finally get my WR1! I want to go for a GPS detector has anyone got any thoughts on which is the best out of the Road Angel or Snooper and what are the best prices at the moment?

without question the one I would recommend is the origin B2.

it seems to be the most thought out, the most upgradeable, the best looking and the price is comparable with the others.

do a search on Kelkoo, some real good deals out there at the mo. Me, I gotta a Snooper, bit annoying round town, hasn't missed any GPS fixed cameras yet.I only got Snooper 'cos it was cheap at CostCo before Chrimbo. I've also heard RoadAngel are good as well. There was a similar thread to this a few days ago that gave a link to a site that reviewed all the detectors.

I also have a B2. It's the way to go...

Fits nicely in the ash tray, can been seen easily, and as it talks to you, I can keep my eyes on the road.

It's saved me a few times, and also pickup up a laser trap the other day.

I went for the Snooper S4 Neo. It's got laser and GPS on it, and is portable between cars. You can get an optional radar detector too, but they give off too many false alarms (my brother has one) and are hence annoying.

Downloads take only a few minutes, and provide warnings for black spots and schools as well as the obvious traps. Has loads of modes for different roads, and a smart mode for detecting whether you need to be warned going by your current speed. Talks too!

Stay clear of the K40 laser diffuser,I have one on my 2000 classic and when the sun is strong the false alarms do my head in.I got three points off a portable cabin with a camera out of a porthole because I didnt react fast enough as i thought it was another false alarm. I also have a Bel550 radar detector which is great on gatso cameras.I am also waiting on a wr1 and I am not sure what kit to put on to protect my licence.

I just got a Road Angel and think it's great. GPS so no false alarms. Gives GATSO's, Mobile Cameras, Blackspots (Can be targets for speed traps) and known laser sites.

Has a laser detector, but as with any of these it's pretty pointless cos if it detects the laser they already have your speed. It's perfectly legal, though if you add a laser jammer (LRC100) then the legality becomes questionable.

You can add any of the sites yourself to the database too, so if you know there is a popular place for the tossers to hide you can add it. Nice reminder if your not really paying attention.

What I really liked though was being able to connect my laptop and use it as a GPS positional system - now the Missus can see exactly where we are using Autoroute and has NO excuses for getting us lost. (Bet she'll manage it somehow though lol)

what about the road pilot?
ive got mine in front of the ash tray angled to me with the wires all hidden away, its nice and neat.
its also intelligent,as it only gives audible warnings if your actually exceeding the limit otherwise just visually on the screen.
loads of extra functions and looks good too.

Duck Pond

they dont give off false alarms if you use the menus, you can select Smart Mute and Auto mute, and you will not get false alarms. In fact,i use mine without the radar laser detector, which is where the false alarms are coming from.

I own the company .

Joined up cos I'm thinking of trading in my car for an Impreza and wanted to find out more about the various models, values, cars for sale etc.

Appologies if I advertised a little.... .
