Drug Driving - Have You ?
Just to follow on from the drink driving thread, I wondered if anyone had driven while under the influence of narcotics. The police and the media seem to think this is just a big a menace on the roads, yet it's a lot harder to quantify without doing a blood test - not the easiest thing to do at the roadside.
Are drug drivers a bigger threat to road safety than drink drivers ?
[edit] you can tick more than one box if need be

I've raced in a World Endurance motorcycle race (Bol d'Or) where almost everyone was on speed. Including me.
Would I do it again? No way on earth. I'd happily do endurance racing again but although the drugs kept me alert and awake, my judgement was seriously impaired and the after effects were horrible.

I'd love to know how your supposed to cope with driving after taking LSD.
I did dabble a bit in my yoof and must say I wouldn't even be able to contemplate driving the state that stuff gets you in!

Me ( driving ) and some mates drove back home from an afternoon picking & eating mushrooms when we were about 18 - fecking frightening, I had a very close call with 2 ramblers

there's no heading "driven while smoking on a crack pipe with a hooker between your knees"!
Big "no" from me, but interesting poll.

I used to drive quite regularly on Cannabis/derivatives but I could never work out to what extent it impaired my driving as the relative speed which was very slow, needed to be factored in.
Conversely, when I used to drink and drive the speeds that I travelled at were horrendous leaving no margin for error.
The stupidity of youth.

Regularly used to drive with a spliff hanging out my mouth.
.............In fact, any journey over an hour and I would need a have some pre-rolled! Traffic jams became a good time to roll up!
.............thinking about it, if I wasn't at work I was stoned!

Used to drive stoned out of my head in my early 20's. It actaully made me drive far more cautiously, be less aggressive and be more alert because of the paranoia that would set in thinking there was a cop sitting round every corner waiting to give me 20 years hard labour
Thankfully its all behind me now and dont even smoke ciggies anymore which I used to chain smoke in the car on any sort of long journey

Yes to all of them some years ago - it was commonplace to drive off your face in the early days of raves, free partys etc and I guess it probably still is now. Looking back I thank my lucky stars I didn't hurt or kill someone because of it.
And Ketamine isn't particularly pleasant
