Default Arms and freeweights part II.

I asked the first time but didnt get what I was looking for. OK, started doing them yesterday but I just want a bit more info so it's done correctly.

How much weight should be on each bar? Ive got the full 10kg on ATM, is this too much? How many curls should be done with each weight? How often a day should you repeat?

When should I start to see a physical difference? I must say they do look bigger but I guess its swelling ATM and not muscle.

How do you defiegn the top part of the forearm?

cheers.

Defiegn? LOL, nice!

What exactly are you trying to achieve? What has definition got to do with it at this stage?

Trying to make my arms bigger (bi & tri) and I want to make the muscles in my forearm more visable, I mean they already are but they will come out more.

How long should this take, and with what wheight and how many times a day?

And this is to get better at arm-wrestling, specifically? Why the focus on arms?

Ok. Well, to keep it short - concentrate on the basic movements - squats, bench presses, chins, shoulder presses, curls, triceps extensions. Three or four times a week, 6 - 8 reps, 4 -5 sets each exercise. Split between legs, then chest and biceps, and then back, shoulders and triceps.

You're wasting your time:

a) if you want your arms to grow by say an inch, the rest of your body needs to grow in proportion (unless you have genetics for freakish arms)!!

b) 10kg is f*ck all - you won't get the growth you're after by lifting that!!

Do a routine centred around basic, heavy, compound movements e.g. Squats, Deadlifts (my favourite), Chins (weighted eventually), Bench Press or Dips (weighted), Standing Military Press, Bent-over Barbell Rows etc.

You don't necessarily have to do all of them, pick a selection that works the entire body and hit them HARD!! Strive to increase the weight (whilst maintaining good form) whenever possible!!

If you deadlift a shed load of weight, do chins with an extra 25kg round your waist and military press your body weight.......you'll have big, but more importantly strong, arms!!

you wont get anywhere without core lifts. Everything grows proportionary. So you need to be deadlift, squating etc. Every body part will grow at the same rate that way.

Agree with Vette, deadlifts ****ing rock when you get heavy heavy Wouldnt be to concerned with millitary press dont rate it. Do dips, db extensions, Close grip bench.

almost all of your questions are "how long's a piece of string" type questions.

if you're getting into lifting to "get big guns asap", then give up now. it takes a LONG time and you're kidding yourself if you think you'll stick to it.

and you HAVE to grow in proportion or you'll just look silly.

with perfect diet and exercise regime (drop the girlie db curls and LISTEN to the advice above re: compound movements) you could PROBABLY stand to gain around 2" to your arms in your first year, then 0.5" each additional year until your natural limit. do some research, and/or ask on here for a bodybuilding routine and/or diet.

asking the same question again because you didn't like the correct answers you were given the first time round is just insulting to those who bothered to reply in the first instance. asking again isn't going to suddenly make it possible to build huge arms with girlie curls 5 times a day.

Lots of people have their own opinions on what kind of weight training to do in order to develope bigger muscles. I agree with milo, forget the bicep curls and develop a full body workout. I used to train about 2 years ago until for some stupid reason i decided to run the London Marathon, break my arm (fell over 4 miles into the marathon but managed to complete, much to my mate in the marines amusement!) oh and get Salmonella all within a year. So as you can imagine i lost alot of bulk and weight (2 weeks of the jappy crappies tends to do that!!)

Since Jan this year I have decided to get back into training, all for the usual reasons single again, and hoping it will help me pull again. Anyway, I have been using max weight 8 reps failing on the last 2 reps and requiring help to finish them. I have also been using the stripping technique again, max weight until failure then lowering the weight until failure and so on, you get the idea. My bench went from 70kgs to 110kgs, and bicep curls have increased to full sets of 26kg (seated). Its all about the last few 'failure reps'. They are the reps that actually do the muscle building. You also need to get your diet right. Protein and carb balance. A lot of the guys I know use supplements, I haven't as yet but will soon. You also have to stick with a routine as results are very slow in showing, but a bit of variation can help. I am currently trying to cut, so lots of cardio work and a few weeks of high reps low weights. I find this helps with my muscle stamina.

This is just how I workout, people have different methods and you must choose one that suits and works for your body the best.

Try reading some of the mens health magazines they are pretty good on advice, and if you can get a copy of Arnold Schwarzneggers Encyclopedia of modern bodybuilding that may help. Even though guys like Schwarzenegger used steriods, he does have some very good advice and training programs, as well as diet information.

Hope all the posts have helped in someway.

Best of luck

M.

Take all the above advice.

But dont take mine.

2Mls of Deca decanoate jab

2 Mls of Sustanon jab

50Mgs of Methostandrostalone oral

Per week (1st 4 weeks)

Then add an extra 2Mls of Deca for 4 weeks just for good measure.

Then take away the extra Deca and 50Mgs of Meth, continue with the rest for another two weeks.

Then for your final two weeks sack the Sus, and finish with only 2Mls of Deca.

This is known as Pyramiding (sp) up......across.....and down.

Then get some prygnil to kick your bollox off, or they wont start producing natural testosterone because you so full of it, and they have been shut down for 12 weeks.

Get ready for for a mental rollercoaster ride, your the 'man' when your on it, full of yourself, and fooking massive.
But your an aggressive, violent, short tempered git, who cant sleep and thinks everyones out to get him.(who said that?)

And when you come off it you will get mega depressed, and think its not worthwhile going to the gym because your not on a course.
You will also lose a good 30% of your gains in two weeks.

It also plays havock with your spelling......

Steroids will only make you go bald if you are genetically pre-disposed to baldness!!

i.e. they just accelerate what was going to happen anyway!!

Best way

Single-handedly cut down and cut up 20 30ft trees, moving the logs by hand 50m. Then dig 30m trench 1ft deep for rabbit fencing and install. Then move several tons of top soil by hand etc etc

Still got maybe 40m of footings to dig Plus finish off the fencing.

I know that both my biceps and tri-ceps have increased in stature quite substantially over the last 2 months! Daresay a lot of other muscles have also "toned up" and increased. Stamina levels have risen. Got a suntan too

Find a 40ft tree and tie a rope to it, then do hand-over-hand climbs all the way to the top. Repeat as often as you can and you'll soon end up with huge arms and fantastic grip strength.

Wear a rucksac full of bricks if if you find it all too easy

Stefan

P.S. Puff, I hop you're running with those logs. No slacking now
