i know theres a fairly biggish company that does this (possible halfords?) and i will be needing approx 2/3tins of feather white soon, has anybody used these "we make them up for you" companys and are the cans any good?
ive been struggling to find an feather white, the last one i tried was a car plan version and to be honest it was miles off and not useable
i need to repair a smashed wing mirror for this years show season

I had some paint made up at team valley halfrauds, only used it at the weekend and I am letting it harden up for a while before I polish it, but the colour match seems OK. It was paint for a gun rather than an aerosol, but the paint is the same stuff.
Word of advice though, dont get halfrauds brand laquer, it never looks right, had to go and get some for the gun for the last bits I did, finish is soooo much better, and it's actually easier to use a gun than a can, not that this helps you though
The halford laquer looks slightly opaque, and will give white a matte effect that doesnt seem to polish out, try another brand from a motor factors, it won't be any worse

I found the halfords laquer only works with halford brand base paints ![Confused](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/confused.gif)
I used halfords paint (off the shelf) and laquer to do a corner on a nightfire red Rover, match was perfect and managed to blend it perfectly.
I tried the same Halfords laquer on Holts base paint and the laquer started going yellow once the sun had got on it

yeah i actualy rate the halford laq myself, the car plan stuff ive used previously has went yellow fairly quickly, which meant a old set of alloys ended up with the 2 front ones a kinda champagne colour with the rears going the same way
i actualy prefere the spray pattern from the halfords cans so ill try the silverlink one tomorow and see if they mix paint up.
