White Volvo M40 - one occupant and a camera
Hi
The wife was driving up the M40 yesterday and came upon a white volvo saloon a little quickly. Before tonking past she noticed it had a camera facing to the rear in the rear window so pulled in behind instead of continuing at warp speed 7. It had no obvious ariels etc.
After a while she pulled out and tootled past at 80 or so. Her passenger had a look at saw one male occupant (the driver!) who was wearing a t-shirt.
She's a bit worried that she may have been busted.
Does anyone know whether plain clothes traffic cars can do someone with just the one occupant, and also I'd have thought they would pull you over there and then rather than get you on camera and send a ticket. The driver was wearing a t-shirt!

Well they can certainly do you with just one officer in the car - old wives tale that there needs to be two of them (as is the calibrated speedo aswell). Does seem a bit strange though - I've not heard of this sort of setup before. Camera facing to the rear is also unusual.
I don't think I would be worrying too much at this stage.

My Sat/Nav has a connection for a rear facing camera to be used as a reversing aid.
Was the body of the camera angled slightly down?
If fitted with a wide angle lense it could be used for the above.
As he was alone I would hope he would not try to drive & look at the rear view on the display all at the same time.
Mark.
