Top Gear, what to wear
I am going to watch the filming of Top Gear next Weds and would like to know if there are any general tips/advice (from those that have already been).
I don't know what to wear, should it be something conservative or light and girly?
Also footwear, do you spend hours standing still?
I wondered about heels, but think I would be put to the back of the audience as it would make me nearly 6ft. Would comfy trainers be better?
Sorry for being such a girl.

Good Luck, I believe from a friend who went that you DO stand around for ages.
Would reccommend something comfy.
After last night's show, I've decided to give up my quest for tickets, it was a huge let down, they are visibly struggling for new ideas and failing terribly.
Have a nice day there. Cheers.

Hi Nicci,
Yep, went last Wed to the filming (got me mug on telly last night...got royally Clarkson'd )
They let you in at 2.30, but until then you're hanging around the car park (so wear something warm)...you're then standing for hours, we finished off at 7.30 that evening.
It isn't cold inside the hanger, in fact, they ask you to remove heavy jackets so that it doesn't look odd in-shot....the hanger did, however, flood whilst we were filming!
Bear in mind that they also move people into and out of shot....good looking girlies tend to catch Mr C's eye, so get moved to the front ...if this is what you want then skimpy=good!!
Other than that, just casual...jeans & tee shirt, although some blokes did turn up in suit/tie, some women were dolled to the nines! would recommend trainers, it is 5-6 hours of standing.
Have fun, you'll enjoy it, it is a right laugh....oh, and if bad language offends, then take ear plugs!..Jeremy swears like a trooper, but in a funny way, not a head-off way!

Is it like Top of the Pops where they have about 10 people and just squish them into camera shot to make it looked packed out and a great gig?
Where do you get (or try to get) tickets from?

If you're an attractive woman, it won't matter - they'll put you in the front row regardless.
(Who *was* that young lady last night...? )

As for priority, thats decided by who gets from one part of the hangar to the next fastest for the "best" places to stand - if best is being right in the camera shot. Watch out for markings on the floor (not to mention cables!) which indicate where people can't stand.
Also, you will be standing for hours, so I recommend comfy shoes. What is it they say about women in comfortable shoes...

Gedi, say hi if you spot me. I am fairly tall and slim, would give more of a description here, but there are too many pervs about
The only similarity I have to Suzy is that I used to have a motorbike and have leather clothes (not just bike bits). I think Neanderthal is the only one here who has seen me.
