I read in the paper last week that Browns twin brother had gone to court & they told him if he didn`t do all of the training he`d be banged up even longer, so no get out for him If I was on the training team I`d beast him even more

Superb, should be made mandatory for everyone who lives or immigrates to this country.
Also add to that "proper" corporal punishment - non of this namby pamby "bad boy do 20 push ups crap." Starve 'em run them ragged and give them a good smack in the mouth for any verbal. Then perhaps we wouldn't have so many problems with the generations this country is currently producing.
And just in case someones asks if would I do it...hell yes, if everyone else does I will, I may learn something. Plus I'm 'ard

That Luke (the twin who threw his tea cup) is a ****. Does he honestly think that he is going to get away with it!!
Did make me laugh when they had to drop shorts and grab tackle. I think everyone of them was grinning from ear to ear

Yes but in the "real" national service there would be proper punishments rather than the verbal abuse. I didn't mean a literal smacking in the mouth, I meant a more harsh punishment to shut up their mouthing off at senior ranking officers (i.e smack in the mouth- they shut up! ). Verbal abuse will only ever get to you if you let it.
Ask a telephonist who works BT complaint's dept
define hard...physical or mental?
I'm mentally hard, physically I'm adequate.

Next Week:
Thursday 22nd July
It’s day six. Bad lad Luke Brown is desperately awaiting the arrival of his twin, Alan, who should have joined up with him but who is now four days late. Private Kett takes on the military police, ends up in the slammer and eventually does a runner – his future in the camp is now in jeopardy. And one recruit makes a shocking confession on Sunday and leaves the church in tears – Private Weaver says he is a Satanist!
For Mancunian Will “10 Bellies” Moynihan, life is getting tougher. He doesn’t seem to understand the concept of food rationing and when he helps himself to a massive pile of food at breakfast, he finds himself in trouble with the PTIs again.
Big lad Chris Townsend also finds he can’t take the pain dished out by the Provost Sergeant – inattention on parade gets him 50 press ups and he storms off to the billet. Sergeant Rae uses his best psychological ploys to turn him round and they eventually have a touching reconciliation.
Eventually the Brown twins are re-united – their four day separation is the longest they have ever been apart in their lives and sure enough once they’re together it’s double trouble. The question is - will they make it to the end of Bad Lads Army?

Wasn't going to watch this, but Him Indoors wanted to so we did......I'm Hooked !
Why oh Why can't they make this a present day form of correction? I say correction because thats what it is. It teaches respect and humility. Oh please, powers that be, this will address many of our problems .

That's what I'm trying to say...just somone has jumped on my mentioning of physical punishment Pathetic people like them in the program are easy to break down with just mental abuse, they are weak minded. Combine it with the two and you have the perfect means for a correctional system for more hard skinned offenders where just mental tatics do not work as well.

No worries Jason, I just thought you misinterpreted what I meant by physical punishment.
Can I lengthen that quote if I may?....just to get the context
"Just mental tatics do not work as well on their own for strong minded/hard skinned individuals."
So far the programs doesn't seem to have any of these people, or the ones who are just put up, shut up and conform, which is the whole idea.
Obviously doing ABH will never work, but there other forms of what could be termed physical abuse. That combined with the current tatics will break any individual down (no matter how "strong" they are) to a sobbing mess. By that I mean sleep deprevation (worse than now), if the person is difficult, make them sleep outside and wake them up at 3:00am and do a few laps of the training field. For people who don't respond well to the mental treatment and are still abusive to higher ranks a few days in the "hole" (solitary confinement, with no light), with a nice cold shower from a hosepipe whilst still in cloths and still in the cell every morning. Food deprivation, give them smaller portions, or to be fair for basic human rights - give everyone else larger than normal portions and make a subtle point of it. That's just a few things I can think of, nothing that results in a literal "kicking" as such, but more of a kicking into reform.
Whats done in the program works well, and it great to see that what's being done gets to them pshycologically. But I feel in the real world for it to work with effect fully on everybody it needs to be tougher. Obviously finding someone who can give the kind of drilling/orders with such full effect as the guys on the program without resorting to fists would be a very difficult task indeed.
Perhaps I've been watching/reading too many POW films and books

I reckon they should do a modern day version, no holds bared at Browning barracks home of the Paras or even Lympstone(sp) home of the Marine Commandos.
Now that would make interesting telly none of this big brother ****e.
Also where the hell did the get so many 1950s uniforms and did you see the stuff for sale in the NAAFI

seem to remember a program on the glass house..
The military prison...
the normal reoffending rate for the civvies is approx 60%
reoffenders from the glass house 3%
now i wonder why...
could it be that the glass house actually punishes you!!

I was expecting them getting the boxing gloves out in the ring last night! I`d love to see chav go into the ring with the smaller Cpl, I`d bet he`d **** himself, never mind going in with Big Joe! (ex Para)
I bet the two chav bros are getting some stick back in their "manor" now! Admitting he`s a big **** who`s not man enough unless his brother is there, tossers.
