Thumbs down whats the dif. between...?

this thread about narrow minded bigots in Lee on the solent

and the current crop of threads about the BNP.

I was called a God-Squad-Do-Gooder for standing up against narrow minded idiots, yet *most* can see the wrong in the BNP.
is it because theyre working class northerners thats its unacceptable to be racist, but get a load of middle class in a (reasonably) nice area and they can make a stand.

double standards?

Not wishing to have an assylum centre in your back yard is not racist Peanuts.

Very true. Most people think this as well but are just scared to say it.

Whatever happened to free speech I say.

Most of the arguments presented by those 'protesters' in L-o-S _were_ racist (extremely in some cases)

OK, they don't want an asylum centre near their homes, but they were bigoted in the extreme.

thanks Doc,
these bigots were indeed being very racist but they tried to hide that behind the fact they are white middle class.
The banners they put up at the roadside were IMHO very offensive and sickened me.

But nevertheless, whether you agree with them or not. They did apparently represent the feelings/opinions of the people who put them up. At least they weren't scared to say what they think.

Just to add, i haven't seen the banners. I'm just making a point on principle here.
