A quick summary. The Pioneer 434 is currently regarded as the best due to its high resolution and HDMI (digital video) connectivity. The Panasonics are very close on PQ using component connections, but lose out when HDMI is used (you need a HDMI DVD player too). Hitachi are also worth a look but it boils down to how much you want to spend. The Pio are £4k+, Panas can be had from £2k and Hitachi 3000's have now dropped below £2k. My money would go on a Pana, but I would love a Pio if I could afford it.
Or you could go for the Samsung 80" at $47000

As an aside a mate has got a Sony Wega, and IMO the PS2 works better on mine than his, go figure

Sony a rebadged LG?
Find it hard to believe, but that obviously explains why my LG is so good.
Richard.
PS Must stick a Sony badge on it, then it will be even better

Sony do some good stuff (their Trinitron tube was the best for years, and still is among the best), but its a shame that some of it is re-badged.. I diddnt about the plasmas, but I knew other things were, videos for one...
From what ive heard/read the new generation of LCD panels are a big improvement over plasmas (picture quality wise), but for now they are around 4k.. so Panasonic plasma it is!
