Default Advice needed, what to do about rats with wings

A bloke 2 doors down from me has these birds. There not pigeons, called flaoters/tumblers or somthing along those lines. Basically they look like pigeons (rats with wings) with fluffy bits on there legs.

He keeps them in a Avory on a night but during the day there allowed to fly about. Which normally wouldnt bother me but they insist on flying onto my house. Crapping all over washing, windows & me dads car. They also enjoy flying onto my window sill when i leave it open and leave me a surprise. Which has stopped me from opening window during the summer.

This is really starting to annoy me now, i know you are not allowed to keep pigeons on this estate, but would these birds come under same rule.

Anbody got any sugestion of what i can do about it, bare in mind the bloke that owns them is built like a brick s**t house and isnt too friendly.

Send him a letter anonymously asking him not to let them out or you'll report him to the local council.

He'll then put a post on here, saying that he received a letter from the local busy-body making unreasonable demands on his liberty. He'll explain about how he is the model neighbour and ask for sugestions what would be the best way to deal with you.

You'll probably end up with a potato in your exhaust or something.

Hope that helps.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Hope you find a solution soon.

If there is a local bird of prey centre/rescue (for a small donation) they will leave a bird (tethered or caged ) with you for a couple of days and the pigeons wont come near.
We used them about 4 times a year to keep our hotel clear. They work.

The poster of this topic does not even know what animal he is talking about.

They sound like racing pigeons to me,so under no circumstances shoot them.

any pigeon caught on private land is classed as vermin and can be shot....you dont know it is a racing pigeon until you pick up the corpse and it has a ring on its leg!! the law says as long as the pellet stays within the boundries of your property you can shoot most vermin......

Bit like cats really, difficult to persuade them not to go where they want. You should be thankful they are not seagulls!

Well in a perverse turn of events, following recent threads, I'd say a cat is probably what you NEED to cure the problem

Yeah, our cats scoff loads of pigeons (well collar doves anyway).

If only they could get those noisy wood pigeons that wake us up most mornings
TBO I think they are a bit too scary for them.

Maybe if I starve the cats for a week or so
