Default OK, lets see how clever you REALLY are!

In the 80's there was a record released that was an instrumental with birdsong overlaid ....... my mind is going, so it could have been the 70's or earlier!!

Anyway, at the risk of appearing sad - anyone clever and brave enough to tell me what it was and who did it?

Cheers!

Pete

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise.

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to be free.

Blackbird fly blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night.

Blackbird fly blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night.

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise.

You see, Paul McCartney never needed John Lennon to write a great song.

And the Birdie song is not instrumental and doesn't have a bird tweeting as a backing??

Oh come on..partial credit please.

Released in 1981, but was composed in the 50's by Werner Thomas

Actualy, I have just remembered, Lene Lovich did a version of "I think we're alone now", before the slag Tiffany. And it was much better.

How about this
In 1982 John Dummer and Helen April released a STUNNING version of 'Blue Skies' which only reached No 54 in the UK.
The track seems to suggest a transgression into the afterlife. It begins with a brief thunderstorm, strange echoey whistling, footsteps, Helen April's at turns ghostly and childlike spoken word vocals: "Remember me", eerie organ and ending with swirling winds before gentle birdsong.

Albatross by Fleetwood Mac is the best instrumental ever written and happens to be my most favourite song/tune ....... so, no, its not that!

Question

The only one that springs to mind was called, I think, "Loving you", but it wasn't an instrumental.

It was a female singer, and she sang really high at the end of each verse.

A version of the song was performed (sort of) by Eddie Murphy in "The Nutty Professor".

Yeah, I thought of this one, but the non-instrumental nature of it made me dismiss it.

I'll back you up on the crapness factor, too ... bilge of the first order, and even more "let's see if the dolphins can hear this" notes than Maria Carey at their worst.
