Default Warning !! Driving Day

In December 2003, I booked as a christmas gift for my son, a driving day at Bruntingthorpe. The day was advertised as a 'Drivers dream day' and included several laps in a Porche 911, a Ferrari, Lotus elise and a Subaru WRX Sti.
The booking was made via Great Experience Days Ltd. and cost around £299 + insurance.
My son was issued an 'open' voucher which entitled him to choose any weekend during the year 2004. He subsequently chose to go on the 18th September 2004.

I received an email on the 13th September from Darren Edmonds via julie (Drivers Dream Days) informing me that they/he had not been paid by the agent (Great Experience Days Ltd) and it was his belief that Great Experience Days Ltd were about to be put into administration. Therefore the booking had been cancelled.

Can anyone offer advice as to my rights in the situation I find myself in?
Seeing as I booked the day with a Debit card and not a credit card, I have little chance of redress there.
What happens to poor suckers like me when a company goes into administration?

Cheers

If it goes into Administration (or any of the other formal insolvency processes) then you will rank as an ordinary creditor.

As such you will rank for payment of a dividend after secured (generally banks and other lenders) preferential creditors (employees) and of course, the Insolvency Practitioner's fees and costs.

Don't hold your breath...

Bummer!

Just for the record, who issued the voucher? Drivers Dream Days or Great Experience Days?

Not a dig, just trying to point out that all is not always as it seems.

Pete
The voucher was issued by Great Experience Days.
Drivers Dream Days have run several courses without being paid and have therefore, rightly, pulled the plug on any bookings made via Great Experience Days.
I have tried to contact Great Experience Days, so far without success.
I have also contacted my bank and they say that I could have had my money back if a claim was made for 'none supply of service' within 90 days. Unfortunately I made the booking in December.
I am still in discussion with them as I believe the 90 days should begin at the date the service should have been provided i.e. 18th September 2004.
Thanks for your advice guys.
BTW, my son will still get his driving day as I have re-booked directly with Drivers Dream Days. He gets to drive a 911, F355, elise and of course the Scoob.
Only problem is I've paid for it twice - DOH !!

Regards to all.
