Default Its that time of year again!!!!!!

As the darker mornings and evenings draw upon us its that time of year again that the saxo and BMW boys have been waiting for, yes you guessed it, front fog light season, they can now cruise around the streets looking really "cool" from 7pm onwards now without having to wait until 10pm to look "cool"
[rant]
Just went out in woking to my local pets at home" for some dog food and as soon as i turned out of my road there was a BMW with sidelights on and fog lamps blaring , I flashed the tw@t several times and flicked my fog lamps on and off but he cruised past smiling, after completing my purchase i took a different route home and the same low intelligence amoeba was coming towards me again then another two of three cars with fog lights on, whats the fecking point

It'll also be the season of the even worse and dangerous ignorant fools:

Who drive on just sidelights in the dark

I always wait until it's too late for them to respond, then give 'em the full force of my high beam.

The problem with 'side-lights' is that they are NOT side-lights.

They are parking lights and should not be used when driving at all.

Gets my goat when you see people driving in full dark with nothing but the parking lights on because they were too frigging brain dead to put dipped beam on when it started getting dark.

Muppets.

Noticed lots of cars with main beam on during the day aswell lately mostly elderley drives who think they've just knocked on side lights, passed 3 cars on the dual carriage way today at 4.15pm and 2 of them were blinding me. seen about another 2-3 in the last 3days also!?

Ok, when it rains, who uses their dipped beam??

I do, especially having a silver car, people seem not to "see" my car - any excuse to use my lights and I'll use them for that reason.

(plus it is advised )

Marker lights, side lights, parking lights same thing....they all mean the same 5watt bulb on each corner**

**note. Except some Fords (and certain other marques) that series wire the dipped beam lights when the ignition is on, giving a "dull" dipped beam as well as the normal marker lights.

they're the new VW Siroccos - if the fogs not on then the fuse has blown and th tw@t can't get enough brain cells together to fix it

you can tell when you're getting back into Yorkshire from being on holiday etc as the concentration of basshead d1ckheads with fogs on, pimp tints, neons etc jumps alarmingly

The problem is, a lot of people are basically ******* stupid.

My old housemate was adamant that sidelights were for if it was a bit dark, dipped were for a bit more dark, and main for really dark. Oh and fogs for if it was raining or foggy.

Despite me pointing out the relevant bits in her cars handbook, and the highway code.

I used to give foglight users a blast of main beam as i pass them, though this winter i've got my P1 so i can add some high intensity "driving" lights to the mix.

Heh heh

Sound like the lovey dovey couples who think getting engaged is the next step in their commitment to each other, little do they realise its usually what people do when they have a date in mind for marriage

How many people have actually been dazzled by a BMW's front fogs though? Rear fogs are horrible, and dangerous....front fogs are just for show and I don't really care if someone wants to advertise they've paid for an option on their car....relax people.

Round my way, the worst offenders seem to be french MPVs and people carriers etc. Like Renault Meganes/Scenics etc.

Obviously the chavs have them on their Novas/Saxos too but that's pretty much a given anywhere in the country.

saxo and BMW
Mmm, a little too subjective me thinks. Don't forget offenders who drive other marques namely Subaru, Mitsubishi, Mercedes-Benz, Ford, VW, Seat, Porsche....the list goes on.

Question

Spotted some chav in a scoob this morning with fogs on. By Andy's reckoning does that mean that all scoob drivers are chavs?

Have to disagree there with ya Chuckster, front fogs are very blinding IMHO, and even more dangerous/blinding when its raining.

Its about time all car manufacturers were forced to introduce front fogs that turn off when the car is switched off so people would have to physically turn them on each time they started the car up.............

yup

*zips up flame suit and runs for the hills!*

(although more often than not scoobs with front fogs on all the time are accompanied by drivers in a certain type of headwear )

The current range of BMWs do that already.

I thought it was illegal to use fog lights except in poor visibilty or heavy rain.

I never find the need to use fog lights for normal driving, and if it is foggy then use of headlights makes it more difficult to see anyway. The increase of light if you use foglights with headlights is hardly noticeable in any case.
