Our starting rate is £53 per day for unskilled labour (£13,700 p.a.). Overtime is time and a half so if a person is prepared to put in the hours they can easily take home £16 - £17k. It's not a lot of money but it's possible to live off it if you are careful and not saddled with debts.

I will add that care workers DESERVE more than we need to pay top Engineers ... but, then again, Engineers DESERVE more than footballers!!
Sadly, deserve has NOTHING to do with earning power!

I was interviewing today for a receptionist at £11,400 starting pay
Electricians and Plumbers are a special case as they are a high demand service with oportunities for "foreigners". Government estimates put their "average earnings" at £80K. Flame suit on

Pete - your care workers deserve more than all current earnings of Man U, Chelsea and Real Madrid put together. A sainthood for wiping your **** and listening to your drivel for even 1 8 hour shift would not be out of order

are we talking about Bum Wiping care workers?
*Flame suite on* but when you 'see' what type of ppl do care working they all seem they carn't put a proper sentence together and wear a load of H Samuel gold, not the sharpest knife in the draw. IMO
Nursey Nurses are on anout £9k a year if that... but lets face it, if you have 4 A Levels a Degree etc your not going to go into Baby Sitting and Bum wiping or house cleaning!

bit of a major generalisation there mate. my ex was a bum cleaner for years. it is deffo a vocation. she did her nurse training, wiped a load of ar$es for a few years, then went on to be a counsellor for a cancer charity, and now she lectures in the top university in Belfast. has just completed her masters and will start her doctorate next year. not all "bum wipers" are mindless fcukwits.
Not your usual Bum wiper then
lol

Courier Van drivers in London, I'm paying around £300 pw PAYE - anyone want a job?
Self-employed couriers in London (m/bikes) around £500 pw and cycle messengers £350
However, we're trying to get the biker/cycle rates up so as to attract the best. See our ad in MCN.
