How is it judged? A lot of places I've been are far worse than Bath or Windsor.... Is it based on crime, wealth (or lack of), employment, lack of entertainment? I can think of a lot "crapper" places than some of these!

Live near Windsor and I'd hardly call it cr@p. Was only walking down bythe river yesterday, where it was bustling with happy people. Strolled through the French Market they had on in Eton, over the bridge.
Would like to know the definition of cr@p too please ?

Nottingham isnt that bad at all, its just full of students and, remarkably for a city centre, it isnt full of Chavs spitting through their teeth. Just stay out of the Charver areas and its all pretty nice really.
But as much as it pains me to say it Middlesbrough (my beloved hometown) is probably worthy of a place.
I take it that the ommision of Sunderland from the list is an oversight?
