Question Shortest Time before being fired from a job....?

Following on from the 'best' and 'worst' jobs theme ....

Mine.... 17 yrs and 364 days old

First night as waiter in local restaurant, tells boss needs next night off as it's my 18th. He says NO! as he needs staff being a Saturday. So I adopt appropriate teenage mood. Then served this snobby bitch, who then complains her steak is far too hot ! Un-peppered I may add, just too hot in temperature

So I ask her if she'd like me to run round the block with it, until it's a bit cooler ?

She complains and I'm on my way by 10:15

At least I knew not to go into customer services

Yours....?

Never been fired. I quit a job after 3 hours. Do I win a prize?

Never been fired either, walked out of a temp job cutting up fruit for airline fruit salads after about 4 hours. 2 degrees C, no thermal wear, half hour lunch with no other breaks and then some girl cut the tip of her finger off.

Thumbs up

Got a verbal warning from one job three months in..
clocked out after a shift, went to my bike, had a *** and then came back in,
clocked on and completed some overtime..
cos the company had a clampdown on people skiving off for a *** during working hours, i got collared..
my supervisor was bloody usless and just wrung his hands...

next was the written..
after completing a shift i filled in a count card and went home
next day mayhem, the count was wrong and they had to find the parts....
gave me a bolloxing for not checking properly..
they found the parts by stripping the mc down, they would have never been seen otherwise... so how the fck was i supposed to see them!!!

then the biggy

.. i got the bullit for gm...

the reason i kicked a table....
It had jammed a press so i kicked it out of the way.....
the wan*er who worked with me complained...
at the disciplinary I took the maintenace bloke with me.
They asked him what would he have done..
his answer "kicked it out of the way, its the only safe way to do it"
i still got canned.....

but the best part was....

we got taken over the week i got canned.
the manager who did the disciplinary got the bullit
the personell woman got the bullit for misapropriating items..
and my supervisor got canned for signing a count card that was incorrect!!

yes the parts were trapped in the machine...

He turned up as a cleaner at the place where i worked... did i **** myself or what!!!!!

did a couple of agency stints ,, and told them i wouldnt be going back to certain places after 1 day... they really give you some sh*t jobs..

A temp where I'm working now got fired after 2 days because when she went to use one of the photocopiers an engineer was working on it. She kicked the photocopier and verbally abused the engineer

Her replacement went after 1.5 days after refusing to fetch the refreshment sandwiches for a directors meeting from the canteen "sorry, I don't do that kind of thing". Strange attitude for a directors p.a....

First and last job in a Kitchen.

Temp Agengy told the Employer I was experienced Kitchen hand - Which obviously meant I knew what one was.

Got Introduced to the wifey in charge and was given my first job for the day. She pointed at a big bag of spuds and a machine in the corner that looked like a tumble drier. She said "Get the spuds peeled".

I approach the "drier" and figure out quickly what was required. Emptied half a bag of spuds into the top of the "drier" and closed the lid. Pressed the big green button and it started to Whirr. About 5 Seconds later the half peeled spuds started to shoot (and I mean SHOOT) out of the small aperture at the front of the "drier" all accross the Kitchen.

I just stood there absolutely pissing myself as the woman attempted to get to the drier to turn it off.

Sacked after about 10 minutes (6 of which were the Hello how are you stuff)

I once had to sack an 'employee' 2 days before he started. We had a new project starting on Monday, so I got all the new guys together on Friday afternoon for a discussion about who was supposed to be doing what. Took them all to the pub afterwards for 'team building'. This guy had 2 pints and then started fighting with everyone. The MD was there and tried to calm him down, so he nutted the MD. Didn't leave me with many options

LOL! A similar thing happened at my mate's previous company. On the coach on the way back from the Xmas party one of the employees started a full on fight with one of the directors. Bit of a career limiting move!

Class

Similar thing happened at a works do....

Young (and relatively new) employee was driving 3 young colleagues back (rather than them taking the company bus that had been chartered) to Edinburgh and decided to roll his car along the way, injuring all occupants, none too seriously, but all needed alot of time of work....

Needless to say, he didn't last long after the police decided that he wasn't in a fit state to drive anyway
