Radio 1's " Westwood" WTF is he on???
I remember reading about this guy called westwood in the paper ages ago, basically the story was along the lines of he was some big bad *** gangsta rapper DJ, but came from Surrey, rich parents, big house, private school, etc, etc.
I actually heard him for the first time the other day, he was being interviewed by another DJ, I actually felt embarrased to be listening to it. What a total & utter nobber, he sounds like my grandad trying to do an Ali G impression. What is it with these people?
or am I getting old??

He truly is superb to listen to, so funny listening to rude boy gansta speak with a middle class accent.
Anyone see him on top gear? "I'm gonna take a ride in my joint, listening to some phat joints, while smoking a joint" talks complete bollocks but so entertaining lol

He's been around for years, I remember listening to him on Capital back in the mid 80's.
I thought his Father was a man of the cloth
(and I don't mean Burberry either!!)

I don't really like rap and the rest of the stuff he plays, but he makes me laugh. Bow down to the big dog (or something like that)

Leave the guy alone!
Westwood has been around for over 20 years and has more or less been the sole pioneer of Hip Hop in Britain. He is well respected as being highly knowledgeable and enthusiastic within the HipHop community.
Obviously, it is a bit peculiar hearing US Hip Hop talk coming from a middle class white man's mouth, but he has been submerged in that culture for decades and was bound to pick up the 'speak' I suppose.
Funny talk aside, I have huge respect for the guy. He has managed to represent the Hip Hop community, despite being white in a predominantly black lead environment and has done it better than anyone else.
I grew up with Westwood, (am 30 now) and despite being a fan of many other music genres, think Westwood has a lot to offer if you're willing to give him a chance.
Big up!

Am with lemoncurd, he is a parody of all that he represents, so therefore he should be reverred, not ridiculed.
If you dont listen to or appreciate Hip Hop, because you think it is for Chavs only, then you probably would not understand why he says what he says, and does what he does. Fair play to the guy I reckon.
And yes, I believe his father is a vicar, and he is originally from Lowestoft.

Ahh, westwood, the white boy trying far to hard to be black.
Question I have is this, do the rap fraternity really accept him, or do they think he's taking the pish? Regardless of whether he's been around the music for years, he does give the impression to the majority that he's a bit of a tit.
