Red face The Annual Game Starts Again!

My Insurance is due for renewal next week - been with Norwich Union Direct for years now as they have been unbeatable.

The renewal arrives on the mat this morning - £488!!! WHAT??? 25% INCREASE??

So, on I pop to confused.com and NUDirect come out at £425 So I ring their Customer Can'tUnderstand Line in INDIA ................. the lovely lady on the other end of the wire just couldn't understand what I was going on about and started trying to explain why NU are treating their exsisting customers so shabbily .............. we got nowhere, until she went and talked to her supervisor ...

Then the price was droppped to £425 - for this moment ONLY! Yeah, right!

Anyway - anyone dealt with Screentade.com as they are offering to cover me for £387 with Churchill????

Why is it soooooo high anyway?

Tesco demand a Trakker

Direct Line - will give them a ring

Not sure how far below £387 I can get? As the wife pays £170 for her Micra!

Indeed, I know them as FRIZZELL and they want a £450 XS!

£100 XS is quite sufficient I think?

Maybe if I knock the Legal Cover and Breakdown Cover off it will drop a bit below £387?? Might give it a whirl!

Tried elephant?

I find them unbeatable for all 3 of my cars. They're always 20%+ less than anyone else for me.

Also, Pete you must be at that age where you're becoming a worse risk as your reactions slow and your competence behind the wheel suffers

Given your vast wealth Pete, can't you underwrite yourself?

£488 a year is mightily cheap for car insurance, and to make matters worse you've got it down to £387 and your still whinging. I pay 5 times that price, count yourself lucky

With the wealth you keep on expressing pete, £488 should be loose change for you. Afterall the average wage is well in excess of £35000...LOL!!!

Again, having money does NOT mean you HAVE to WASTE it!

I could have £15million - I would STILL haggle to get the best value possible, why can some not see that having money does NOT equal wasting money!

Maybe its those that will never have any wealth? Ha Ha Ha more for ME then!

£387 is £387 - whether I can afford £10,000 a year or not! If you are paying 5 times that price (£2,000) then you are, quite simply, MAD!

And the average wage is £35k (I have never said it was well in excess of that - even if I can't understand anyone getting out of bed for less!)

So, anyone know how I can get it down to a more sensible £299??

Well, I had a different experience - I had a burst hot water tank while on holiday and the lounge ceiling came down

Was with NUDirect and they were simply superb - paid without question, cheques in my hand within days, no problem at all ........ so, I have no issue about staying with them (if only they were as cheap as they have been in the past!)
