Question When will it come down?

Hello folks,

I was wondering how long a cat has to stay up a tree before it is considered "stuck". This one has been up the tree from before 8:30 this morning, and it's still there. There were two rather persistent (and vicious) Doberman dogs at the base of the tree for about five hours, they have now gone, but I think the cat is being very cautious.

I would help it if I could, but the tree is at the top of a cliff, and the land is out of bounds (the photo was taken through the binoculars )

What fate will become of the cat?

Surely the cat will come down on its own though?

Question

It's 300 yards away, and it's dark now so I can't see it.
This was taken earlier.

If it does stay there all night, will it be ok?

Not always. Sometimes esp. if chased a cat can get up a tree but find it harder to get down. Had this with a cat of ours years ago. Up tree in woods all night. Crying to come down. I get ladder, put up tree, start to go up. Cat walks down branches comes down on own. LOL.

Yes. Cats are desert creatures and can survive cold nights and they can survive a surprisingly long time without food and water.

I really wouldnt worry about this cat, they can spend days up a tree, desperation for food will bring it down and the dog will soon get bored and sod off!!

I saw a letter in a newspaper from a tree surgeon, debunking the myth that cats can get stuck up trees. He pointed out that in all his years as a tree surgeon, he'd never found the skeleton of a cat up a tree.

But I'm guessing he's found them at the bottom of trees, right?

Granted there might be all sorts of 'presents' hidden away but we've not found them....

Hmmmmm, one of ours once went 5 days, got badly constipated and had to be helped by the vet. You don't wanna know what he did

It looks like the cat managed to get down sometime in the middle of the night. What a way to spend a sunday!
