Is it possible to get a reasonable quality camcorder for less than £300?
All I want is something that can connect to a PC via USB 2.0 cable.
It's to record family events, etc, so size is probably more important than quality, but I'm open to suggestions.
Anyone bought one recently they recommend?
Cheers
Andy

Also note that most camcorders use a firewire connection for transferring video.
So you'll need a firewire card - but that should only be £10 or so if your PC does not have a firewire socket......
£300 should get you a good choice of mini-DV camcorders, but the JVC looks a good price.

Sorry completely new to this camcorder lark!
Can anyone explain the different conventions, etc? What is mini-DV?
Also isn't USB 2.0 as fast (if not faster than) Firewire? Not a problem really, I've got a firewire connection on my laptop, or I can get a card for the PC.
