'The North Face' Clothing
Does anyone know of any discount stores online that do TNF gear?
I'm after a TNF 'McMurdo' Parka (XL).
I have been googling all night and come up with sweet FA.
Everyone sells at or £10 under MRRP
It would seem TNF have some sort of agreement in place where everyone keep prices similar around £210 ..
any help is appreciated.
thanks.

there's an idea Chief..
will have to give HMCE a call to see what the rate is on clothing..
plus the potential risk of having to pay the dreaded takes away any real advantage..
I have found one place doing them @ $298 (£160 approx) but 160 *the dreaded = £188 + duty potentially.. so a saving of £30 for loads of hassle.. (maybe)
no-one going over to the US over xmas are they??

RAB are far superior if you want a functional down parka.
The states should be the cheapest option, although delivery may be delayed and may be expensive if you get the sizing wrong. I've found some of my TNF stuff to be on the smaller side.

DY04 code gets you 15% off Field and Trek.

Hi m8
I shop at a place called Nevisport in Fort William every January when they have a mega sale. Jackets are half price etc. I worked for Outward Bound for three years and could'nt buy cheaper direct from suppliers through OB and they got great deals due to being a well known charity.
So wait till January & check their website
www.nevisport.com
Either that or visit Fort William then.
Hope it helps

Ah, bo!!ocks. Sorry m8. Try EV81. That's a 10% discount code on one of the flyers I received in the post the other week.
The codes used to last ages, but I think they changed things recently as loads of folk were making them available on other forums Pity coz I was saving a fortune with all the kit I usually buy
I've bought all my RAB gear from http://www.upandunder.co.uk/ Worth having a sniff around their site for the TNF jacket as they sell anything to do with outdoors and were the cheapest place I could find (excluding when those F&T codes worked).
BTW, RAB do jackets with hoods although they are damn expensive - http://www.rab.uk.com/. They are THE best, but since most folk don't climb Everest or got to the Poles, it may not be worth it for the UK weather unless you're a serious outdoor type

Morning,
Don't know if this US outlet sells the sort if stuff you want
http://www.eaglesportscenter.com
Frankly I didn't know it was cool to wear parkas any more. Is this for a train spotting expedition perchance
Anyhoo, I ordered some Sorel cold weather boots from them a couple of weeks ago and they were here in 2 working days. I couldn't ****ing believe it.
They will deliver to your place of work and answer e-mail questions very quickly.
Cheers!

afaik, parkas are quite in - but tbh i'm sick of being freezing.. and with my bonce getting balder each year, it's time for some built in noggin protection (nice furry warm hood- almost like having hair again!!)
I have bought cheaper 'technical' jackets before.. some dont last more than a couple of winters.. although my fave just plain no longer fits me anymore.
cheers for the link.
I will have a look.

Ultimate Outdoors have them for £209. I was in their Skipton store last week looking at the very same parka, toasty
I got a Schott parka three winters ago and it is the best ever coat I've owned, it's waterproof, breathable, got a massive fake fur lined hood and is really toasty, I look forward to winter just so that I can wear it

btw, thanks for your help everybody
My man in vegas is probably my best bet right now...
btw- I found this great site that helps identify fake TNF goods on ebay!
http://www.empireofgames.com/~gladiator/northface/
http://forums.ebay.com/db2/thread.js...=1099159830030
(the one I was looking at on ebay last night appears to be fake as the seller declined to give me an ID number, or close up photos...)

Every TNF garment has a tag with an ID# sewn into a seam on the inside of the jacket. It is low on the garment and typically below the care instructions. This is a series of 4 numbers. Ask the seller for these numbers. You can then call The North Face at 1-800-447-2333 and speak to them. They can tell you the style and the production date.
As of now this is the only way I am aware of to be sure....
Hope this helps.

I use www.gear-zone.co.uk - they are selling it for £198 - best I have found in the Uk. As you say to buy in the USA is better but to just save £20-25 it seems pointless.

I got mine from Blacks- paid £210 but had the luxury of trying it on just to make sure it was far too big (daft bsatard I am) but it is lovely and warm.
Speaking of Rab I'm a massive fan of theirs also but many of their jackets are a bit too 'bubbly' if you know what I mean. In fact I'm actually wearing a Rab berber fleece at the moment and its keeping me nice and warm. I am in the office with the heater on though

dtrigss- well the saving would have been nearer £60
rrh- I know what you mean.. I tried on a Rab Summit jacket.. which looked really 'bubbly' but was amazed how light it was.. shame about the colour scheme
