Question Need help dealing with Stargreen tickets from abroad

Hi all, I need some advice on how to handle a situation with Stargreen. Since I'm in the US and they're in England, they have been ignoring me, so I'm hoping you might be able to suggest who to contact to help encourage them to give me my refund.

The long winded story:
Earlier this year my friend (also in the US) bought tickets to the Pixies show at Brixton Academy. Soon after he found out he wasn't going to be able to make it, and Stargreen only allows the card holder to collect tickets (and will not mail internationally). They agreed to let me pick the tickets up if I paid for them at the time of pickup, then they would credit the original purchaser. This was to protect them from fraud, and it was our only option. That went smoothly, but the credit to the original buyer was never made. They stalled for months, now there's never anyone to talk to who can help.

I've called them, emailed them, spoke to Ms Stargreen herself, but it's been 6 months and they clearly are hoping I'll just give up. It's 125 pounds, so I'd like to get it back. It's a bit late to get the credit card company involved; are there any groups in the UK that monitor consumer rights? Like a Better Business Bureau?

Thanks for any help you can offer!
Paul

Might not hurt to mention you are considering writing to the BBC Consumer TV Programme "Watchdog". Worth a go!

That's the telephone number I've been calling, they've been less than helpful. No one is ever available that can talk to me. Not sure if a tele show would scare them...

Just a thought, but maybe Trading Standards would be able to help? Or you could investigate whether US residents are able to take action through the Small Claims Court.

Watchdog may be helpful though, they're not just any old TV show, and they can be a right pain for companies who rip consumers off.

Alternatively, maybe someone in the UK needs to call them claiming to be your UK legal representation.
