What TV for 300 quid
ok its a ****e budget i know so was gonna get a sec hand 32" widescreen or something similar
but the wifes nagging would prefer a new tv, was offered a 3 yr old 42 " rear projection sony but i know the slightest knock can send em outa sync and then involving a 100+ calibration fee so didnt fance icking it up etc
so im kinda stuck to be honest, i got 300 notes for a new tv and havent a clue what i can get for that money, i am to be honest a bargain hunter, i never like to pay full price lol so out of principle search for sales etc
just wondering on what your thoughts would be if you only had £300 to spend ???

Theres some really cheap online sites.
Not much of a guide but 5yr ago i got a 21" JVC with all the toys for 250. Im sure 4:3 ratio tvs will be pretty cheap now too.

I got a Thomson 100hz 28" (28wh403s) for £275 last year - seems a good TV for the money (also has a rather handy analogue cable TV tuner )
Do an advanced search on kelkoo or price runner, and give some specific details on size, tube type etc and you'll find quite a few flat screen 28" widescreens in that price bracket - that's what I did!

After agreeing that she needed a Toshiba WS TV my girlfriend bought a 28" Beko from Argos promoted for the day to £100! At that price I cant fault it; but if I was paying full price Id llook at Woolworths and some other retailers who have a Tosh 28" WS similar (but one model number character different...) to one Currys stock for a LOT more; for £249:99. Toshiba make the best CRTs at the moment; if you can stretch your budget you can get a beautiful flat 100Hz Tosh 32" for about £500 -£550! Way cheaper than other manufacturers and possibly the better too.

Just bought a 28" WS Samsung - the one in Argos at £349, Curry's at £329 and online at £249!!! ... my current TV is still going strong, a Samsung 24" regular jobbie that cost £240 10 years ago - hence staying with them again ...

I just got a JVC 28" C/W stand, 3 x scart inputs for about £240.00 off the net. Does the job just fine.
Then i've got a projector if I want the full cimema experience must get round to painting that wall white as the wallpaper shows through

the sainsburys lodus 28" was 159.99 and actually was a branded hitachi inside
i should of bought one really but that was couple mts back doubt they still sell em

Have you got something like a CBS store nearby?
In the next town theres this shop called CBS which sells ex-catalogue stuff. Majority is blatantly cheap tat that couldn't sell in those catalogue books you can get (Kays etc.)
However they do have good deals on electrical goods. And every time I'm in there theres always some extra 10% off todays price.
Not quite a TV but I bought a Pioneer 5.1 receiver from there a while back for about £90.

I've got a 32" LG TV. The nearest model now is this one

It's £390 though but IMHO very much worth it.

I know its over budget but bought a Sony 28" digital from powerhouse a fortnight ago with Sony DVD for £439.99.
I set off looking to spend about £300 but the quality of this TV has astounded me from the moment I saw it. Saved on buying a freeview box obviously as well.
Came with a stand and they threw in a really good quality Scart lead

you wont get a brand 32 for under £400...unless you get ex demo etc......if you do that you may as well go via ebay and get one for £200........if you assume you will get stiched up by ebay once every 5 times you will buy 5 times £200 of gear totaling £1000 getting 5 X £400 worth of stuff = £2000.........except one item breaks so you only really get £1600 worth of gear....still better off on ebay if you use it enough!
