Signatures/Avatars Yey or Ney?
I think it would bring a whole series of breath taking laughs with rtms going up tenfold
BTW members would have an option to disable them which is a facility enjoyed by most bulletin boards.
Well?

No, i think the board will slow up to a snails pace. I dont mind the avatars next to names but those "footer" things with pics of their cars etc etc all starts looking a bit sad imo.
I think a board this size and amount of traffic would hinder its fluidity
I couldn't vote for that though

I think having Avatars or Signatures that include pictures is a massive no-no.
It will slow things to a crawl.
One thing I hate about the RSOC and PF boards are the picture signatures. It's not so bad when you have a nice quick connection, but I do have to use dialup and it takes an absolute age to load the page.
Avatars, hmm, maybe, but it would still cause a load on the server, and I personally think it's a bad idea.

Avatars - Yes, but only small ones on the left under the username.
Signatures, no. Pointless, breaks up the threads readability and makes the page 10 times longer than it should be. Especially when pics are used in them.
Might as well call it www.chavvyscoobywithcrappylexuslightsnet.co.uk

Avatars only, and maybe a bit of text in that section in the left to allow people to describe their car. Like how the Legacy Forums do it.

I can't stand sigs when somebody posts a one line reply and the sig then takes up at least 15 lines listing every mod to their car (including choice of air fresher and what colour their driveway is).

I'm with ChrisB on this one. If you want to give details of your car, your hobbies and interests, your pets or whatever, use your profile. Anyone who cares can click to read it, the rest of us don't have to.

'Cos we'd have to have them turned on so we can make sure people don't take the pee with them
Given SN has lived for six years without them, I don't personally see any need for that to change...

For example...look at this thread from another forum with sigs enabled:
http://www.renaultsportsclub.co.uk/f...TOPIC_ID=27822
Now tell me if your think it looks better and is more readable than SN?
There's more signatures than actual thread content
