More PC bovine feacies
Tonight I was at a Panto in Windsor - Jack 'n the Beanstalk.
- It's a family thing - no **** taking pls.
Had a good night very funny etc. . . . But. . . there were a couple of things that narked me off. . .
1. "Fairy God Mother" - GONE This has been replaced with a Fairy Guardian.
2. The Line "fee fi fo fum, I smell the blood of an English man." was completely changed to " fee fi fo fum, I smell someone here I come."
Please someone tell me WTF is going on.

In most cases this is brought about by idiot white liberals over-worrying about how ethnic minorities might react.
I had the "baa baa black sheep" discussion with a Sikh colleague some years back. "Well, they're black, aren't they? What's the problem?" was his response. He wasn't offended in the slightest; to be honest, he was more narked that some idiot tree-hugger had a clue about what would or wouldn't offend him.
OK, so it was one bloke, and his views may well not represent the majority, but it does show that it's not just Anglo-Saxon types who find over-nannying offensive.
Perhaps if people asked whether they were offending rather than assuming they were, they'd hit the target rather more often.

I'd say your Sikh colleague was bang on the money...

Arsene Wenger made a valid point about "PC" in this country. He calls van Nistelrooy a "cheat". The FA give van Nistelrooy a 3 match ban for his "tackle" on Ashley Cole then Wenger gets a fine for calling van Nistelroy a cheat.
Wenger said:
"If someone cheats the rules then they are a cheat - I accept my punishment but I stand by what I said". "It seems you cannot say cheat in this country, it's very strange because the man was reprimanded for cheating - it's very strange".

Its a bit like one of the panto's which has been put on down here in the West Country.
"Snow White and seven perfectly ordinary people" and they are not allowed to sing "Heigh Ho its off to work we go"
Dont ask, I can't understand it either!

But Jack was an Englishman, hence the giant WOULD smell the blood of an Englishman. He clearly has a nose for blood and is easily able to distinguish its nation of origin!

The irony of Wenger calling players from another team cheats is funny.

The uk has gone all to the dogs
All this PC crap FFS, sake they come over here and we have go with the flow on their behalf but if we say anything, they pull the racist card out of their pocket
Before anybody says i'm racist, i'm not, I have a few freinds from the other, not so small, minorities.
But why do we have to tone thing down for them?
If they don't like it, don't watch, or read it !!

Wenger's point is you're not allowed to say it how it is in this country, everything you say is scrutinized cos of the "seen to be" idiots.

To call him a 'cheat' is potentially slander.
I'm sure though that like any player RVN has at times tried to gain an advantage by using means outside of the rules of the game. In this case though I think it was the manor in which the accusation was made that is the reason for his reprimand.

it's true you can't go around making statements about people that are potentially libellous.
