Quite simple, Scoobynet is full of people who put stereotypes on users based on what information they have.
Just look at all these rants at poeple who have BMW's and wear Burberry
I don't want to be labelled based on my location. People who are sad/derranged enough to search or stalk me can work it out for themselves. People I know and like, will know anyway, why tell the world? Also my location is not always in the same country as where I live anyway!
Similar if I put my occupation - again stereotyped (although normally rings true for IT bods )
Even more interestingly - I've encountered the odd user, who somehow thinks my user name is based on an ethnic origin, and rather worrying show negativity. Wtf! Based on a user name? How small minded some people are amazes me!
Or poeple judge that beacuse I post in muppets, it must mean I'm not serious when I post in other forums. Daft! (them not me! )
Thus, I only tell what is mandatory. My details are only needed by my friends, family and stalkers - not the whole world.
Similary to Scooby ownership - I own a Scooby. I don't shout it to the world (well I am at the moment - but that's not the point ). Others will shout to world that they have a scooby by fitting the nastiest and loudest sounding Bluzt (or whatever) exhaust, a flamer kit, VTA dumpvalve. And slap every rally slag sticker to say "Look I have a car that remotely resembles a WRC car"! - But hey that's me just doing what scoobynetters do best....be Judgemental and label stereotypes on people!
My finest characteristic is subtlety, others don't seem to posses this

Dont think its for security, after all people drive their cars around publicly displaying the registration plate that is always blanked out, wouldnt mention the actual address but I think the town isnt a problem, might be more cautious if I had a car anyone was remotely arsed about nicking though !
