...speeding (80 in a 70) on the motorway but happened to be borrowing mates car for the evening so didnt have insurance. got stopped and got a nice yellow ticket.
produced docs but obviously not the ins. 1. paid 60 quid sent off license.
however my license just come back the other day with the 3 points + the usual "your license has been endorsed. thankyou, goodbye" letter.
would this mean that im still pending the insurance issue ? why would they send my license back if it was not fully resolved ??
maybe a nice policeman on here could enlighten me ?!
many thanks

Out of curiosity, why do you say you have no insurance? If you have full comp on your own car and your mate gives you permission then you're normally covered.

you will get a letter, court date then probably another 9 points,
you will probably get a ban from totting up points.
but as you don't bother with the law this will not worry you.

as said 80 is a 70 a little harsh, but as you had no insurance, sorry but have to say you deserve it. in my book anyone driving without tax or insurance deserves to have the book thrown at them.
It's one of the biggest reasons why we have to pay such high premiums

probably get a couple of hundred quid fine.... if you havent got away with it.
Although i like the analogy with the gun and shooting someone. Cos they are the same thing....NOT . Ok it was a naughty thing to do and if you had hit something it would have been worse. But you didnt so jus keep your fingers crossed .
Oh and i dont think its the biggest reason that everyone else pays high premiums at all, the biggest reason is that **** cant drive and crash into each other. AND that insurance companies are allowed to get away with it. PLUS the fact that every fool on the road manages to get whiplash these days in the most minor incidents.

Personally, I'd hope that they throw the book at someone for driving without insurance. Even if it was for just a half hour.
Penalty should be a lifetime ban, unless there are significant mitigating circumstances (ie someone is about to die).

are you for real????? if people so stupid things once should they be let off?
and you are wrong to say no one is affected, there are various implications for what he did from no effect to devastation for someone in a crash with him. his result is somewhere between those two....big fine and driving ban.....doesnt sound like no effect to me?
