FOR F$CKS SAKE!!!!!!!!!!!

Can EVERYBODY PPPLEEEEEEAAAASSEEEEE vote Conservative!!!!!!

That is an absolute joke. just cos labour are the party of the peasant doesn't mean high earners should suffer.

A Mars bar is 30p, irrespective of what you earn.

I beg the question, why f$cking bother earning more.

God I'm pissed off.

So that's the rich that the government have pissed off now.

Are there any groups left to really annoy?

Time to work out how much I can rake-in on benefits for doing fek-all rather than working

Majority rule isn't it.

Majority are peasants so laws will be in favour of peasants.

It's rediculous

I'm guessing it will mean that someone who is considered better off will pay more for a lesser crime than someone who is worse off will for a major one, if you know what I mean

Hello

I heard this, and wondered if it will influence the Police's decision to prosecute: i.e. target obviously affluent people as the fine will be greater.

Steve.

There is a potential overlap yes.

Words can't describe how pissed off this makes me.

It's a blatant vote winner - most of the country are pikeys so ppikeys will love this.

Surely this is true now. Good old motoring convictions are based on an officer's word, whereas a burglarly requires proof. Even then the burglar will probably get a rehabilitation order or probation.

I do resent the fact that as a normally law abiding citizen, if i do 80 on a motorway I get a bigger slap than a serial offender.

Ah, but it you spread your seed and get the CSA involved enough - could the government end up paying you, ie minus figure fines?

What's the problem. Are you guys actually defending law breakers? I thought everyone here wanted more severe punishments for crimes.

For sure there are better ways to do things but I don't really care as these new rules won't affect me as I don't break the law. And if I ever did, I'd know what the risks are. At the moment the risks aren't that great for many people so they chance it.

Excellent idea!!

The pain of the penalty should be the same however wealthy you are - or whats the point of fines???

Another SUPERB Labour policy!!

Some just don't 'Get-It' yet do they?? The Tories are finished, no good bleeting and crying!!

Think the point is why should one person be fined more cos they earn more... a crime is a crime and should carry its penalty not be different for different people.

The idea of a penalty is to inflict pain on the criminal - that pain SHOULD be the same regardless of wealth .............. surely to god??

it should be the absolute opposite.
the pikeys should pay the most!!!
Chavs should pay almost as much,

I wonder what the figures are for criminal earnings (in reality) in relation to income, chavs need money for special brew and skins, pikeys need money for dags food and a new caravan.
so they rob.

what are current stats. for middle to high earners committing these sort of crimes

been in a scrape with anyone who isnt insured?

I think in principle it is ok.
The point of fining people is to deter them from doing stuff again. There is also an element of punishment involved.

Person 1 gets caught doing 50 in a 30 - fined £300
Person 2 gets caught doing 50 in a 30 - fined £300

Person 1 is a millionaire, Person 2 makes millionaires shortbread.

If we are using fines as a punishment / to deter this will not affect the millionaire in the slightest.

How is this fair?

Person 1 earns the national average of £35k - 50 in a 30 = £300 fine

Person 2 earns, earns lets say a modest £100k - 50 in a 30 = £900 fine

That IS fair!!!

If I was fined £300 I would moan but it wouldn't really matter to me ..... £900 would hurt more and make me REALLY sure I didnt speed again!!

Its so simple, so fair, thats I am amazed at the lack of common sense from some!?
