What no 'Human Anatomy' programme thread!!!
I expected there to be a number of these on here this morning!
did nobody watch it?
It was that guy who plastecises bodies.
They dissected a fresh body, managed to take the entire skin off in one piece, and then showed how the tendons and forearm muscles work, he then proceeded to cut the brain out and open up the spine to remove the entire spinal cord and nervous system right down into the toes!!!
Unbelievable!

It found it very interesting, although it brought it home just how fragile we are.
I had an op a few years ago to open the facia around the muscles in my lower legs. It was interesting to see them do the same sort of thing to the thigh muscles.

I was gonna put something up, but got beat to it obviously.
After the warning about human dissection, I thought 'this'll be good'. It went a little further than I was expecting, but it was good viewing, I was a little horrified at a bit of it to start with, but just couldn't change the channel. Can't wait for the rest this week.
Now, how do I watch this with my vegetarian girlfriend?

I was expecting a thread too!
I thought the show was very good, the German dude concerns me a little but the other guy that did all the explaing was very good! It was much more educational than I was expecting, I thought it would just be a gore fest

Made me think that we are just a sort of machine made of meat, the body once skinned did not look that different to a carcass hanging in a butchers shop - not particularly grusome and I'm quite squeemish. Easy to see why some people think we have a soul which leaves the body when dead as all the bits and pieces looked quite robotic and the brain is just like a blamanche kind of stuff. I found it hard to imagine where dreams, music, art and so on come from and why we seem are different to any other kind of animal. The whole thing left me feeling a bit numb but more for these philosophical reasons than anything else.

I found the shows really interesting.
Nice to see what our insides really look like.
I wonder about the smell though and showing the audience just seemed to devalue the show.
Fascinating viewing

Very sanitised....
some of the work was prepared!!!
the skull removal... bone saws make a lot of noise, and they kick out bone fragments/ powder.. erm none there... and the removal of the cranium... most mortitians use a T shaped splitter, far easier than his crowbar technique...
also whipping the spinal cord out, not a sound as he cut through the back of the rib area!!!, and parting the skin,,, it looked like it had already been done, and a few dacron stiches popped in..
the smell wouldnt have been to bad,,, its when they open the chest cavity, and remove the internal organs that it becomes pungent..
very clever though
one obvious inconsistancy... the deceased has his meat and two veg, on perminant display, but the model, was covering his modesty
we still have a ***** hang up on tv!! mind you my mrs didnt think his was up to much!!
