I did something similar last summer whilst cutting some cable ties with a 4" blade (stupidly cutting towards me because of the angle) and took a really deep chunk out of my thumb. I decided not to have it looked at and just used plasters to keep it all together.

Did no harm really, bit of a scar but not too fussed about that. Main thing is its healed. Really depends how deep your cut is but probably be ok just patching it up and changing the plasters on a regular basis.

I did the same on xmas eve, was in pub and because of a faulty chair I got my thumb caught and trapped and took the end off it bled everywhere and the manager took me to the back to wash it put a plaster on it, a free pint and normal service was resumed - it's a major chain and the old 'where theres blaim theres a claim' must have crossed his mind as was crapping himself and kept asking 'your not going to sue are you...'

I think your right...I've got a bottle of that "new skin" stuff which you put on cuts and grazes. It smells and applies exactly like glue

Stings like crazy too

cheers guys well i have'nt bled to death, it seems to have stoped now with a fresh plaster on quite tight, just gona keep changing them. can't be arsed to go to casualty, as i don't think its that bad. it was bad enough putting it under the tap nevermind putting new skin on thats just sadistic plus is prob to deep for that stuf.

Unhappy

On holiday once I was riding a bike on a sandy/gravel floor and went to stop and put my (bare) foot down and grated the end of my toes off - had to have 'new skin' applied, I was only about 15 but it still brings a tear to my eye thinking of it now

It is evil stuff

cutting some materials at work with a scalpel, took the corner off my finger, about a 5 mm lump, docs had nothing to stitch so all they did was wrap it as tight as possible to reduce the flow of blood - the bandage hurt more than the cut!

did have to have another tetenus (spelling) jab though.

I cut the end of my finger quite badly while fitting an a-pillar pod for my boost guage. It wouldn't stop bleeding after about an hour of applying pressure (and it bled A LOT!) so went to the local minor injuries unit. Every time my heart pumped a fine jet of blood shot a few feet from the end of my finger, it was very cool! I now have a thick scar and vey little feeling in my fingertip. All they did was put a tight plaster on it

LOL!

I had the same from my hand. Was a bit drunk and accidentally stabbed myself in the back of the hand at this girl's party. It must have nicked a decent blood vessel as I squirted nice bright red arterial blood all over her pristine new kitchen.

The hospital stitched it up as the wound itself was quite small (long narrow bladed knife). But it must have bled inside for a while as my whole hand went black and blue!

Blew my chances that night though!

Superglue, invented during the Vietnam War to sort our wounds quickly. Stick it togever and get back into the fight, grunt!!

Roo

Either that or use vaseline (oi, don't start oooo errr ) I stabbed meself in the leg while moving house. Went to Casualty, 4 hours later thought sod that put some vaseline on and went to the pub, no probs.

I'm always cutting myself. Dave shakes his head every time I chop an onion.

Last time I did it badly, it bled for a day and ached alot, but a tight plaster always does the trick. I have quite a few scars from chopping veg

Make your own plaster stitches by cutting several long thin strips(3mmx50mms)and pulling them tight over the cut.A normal plaster has the guaze bit in the middle which isn't sticky.

A & E is the best answer, you may regret it later.

No extra charge to cut off on special at the moment.
