Bought a few of those little bottles of Actimel the other day that claim youll feel the benefits in 14 days etc. What benefits am I supposed to get from this stuff as it doesnt say on the bottle.
Has anyone actually felt any different after taking it?

As already mentioned above, me and the missus have been taking it for about 6 months now and deffo didn't notice any change - well apart from the slight increase in flatulance

Helps dilute all the vodka I drink by lining my stomach with milky bacterial goodness, plus the psychological benefit of glugging on something healthy after downing a bottle or two of the hard stuff must be huge

Waste of money according to a doctor who was on Radio 4 recently. I can't remember the full pitch but the likes of Actimel and Yakult are pro-biotics and most people's digestive tracts are not in the right state for these things to work properly.
By all accounts you're much better off (financially and health wise) with fresh fruit every day.
Bless those ad men.
Cheers

But the only benefit apart from the psychological one is for settling the stomach after a heavy night.

I've had it for 6 months now, but every now and then we forget to buy it.
When not having it for a week I seem to feel more tired during that period, may just be a Placebo effect though as Chris said.

Err, if you need to settle your stomach, then try milk. It's available in all reputable supermakets and corner shops. about 50p for a whole litre which is sure better value than some packaged small pots of alkaline goodness

Have heard 3 different docs talking about this stuff and they all say there's no point in the general population taking it. a) because we don't need it and b) if we did need any help then a live bio yoghurt would do the trick anyway.
There's no potion or pill that is a substitute for a good, healthy, balanced diet.
Dull but true!

Been taking this stuff for ages. Dunno if it's just on french telly but they say that if you take the "Actimel challenge" and if after 14 days you don't notice a difference, they will give you your money back. I can't remember what I felt like before I started taking it! I'm not zooming around on shopping trolleys, I know that much.
