Question Has Your Street/Road/Avenue Got

.......... a number 13??

Do YOU live in a number 13??

Was in a Hotel last week that had no Room 13 ..... and our road hasn't got a number 13 either!!

Wise marketing move or stupidity??

Pete

I havent ever seen that in house numbering before Pete; but its common to omit 'Room 13' & 'Floor 13' from hotels.

I have to add that Im surprised that a man of your means lives in a road with house numbers.....

Hmmm; I sense that we are playing 'f*ck you'; so allow me to raise you...... Whilst not owning *any* holiday cottages, I did grow up in a house named '****** Hall'

There are only 6 houses in my road, so no, we don't have number 13!

And to answer the question: superstitious nonsense.

I work for a house builder, we number plots 13 but certain local authorities (Northampton Borough Council is one) do not issue the postal number 13.

Planes I fly in every week have no row 13...probably just as well as no-one would probably sit there, this is a wise marketing move...

I'm number 12 and there's no number 13 next door, just a smoking hole in the ground that gets repeatedly struck by lightning. My black cat won't go near the place.

have no 13 in my street, but did sell a house that was num 13 recently in N'pton so maybe just applies to newer builds (1980's onwards maybe....?)

I lived in Number 13 and nothing bad ever happened to us.

If you exclude the day the 747 flew into the side of the house

You lived in Lockerbie Andy?

No number 13 in my road either. When we lived in the penthouse* flat there was no number 13 block.

* = top floor ..

no 13 on any of the streets round here!!!!

it was new estates being built missed out on 13 because of superstition and it was rumoured that a no 13 house for sale, would never sell!!!

when we bought the current house we looked at No's 13 and 14. Bought 14 in the end because we got it for less than No 13 not because of the number

My brother has just sold number 13. Was on the market since last July....... he had two rather bad relationship break-ups whilst there. Got into heavy , heavy debt, hence the sale to get himself outta the brown stuff.
So who knows. Also, my other brother was born on the 13th. He has an almighty chip on his shoulder about it. Yet there are many very famous and successful people out there with the same birthdate.
As I said before....who knows?!

We *should* be 13, as next door is 11, but as with the rest of the houses in the estate they missed it out and went straight to 15. Sure as hell confuses take-away delivery peeps, but then again that ain't hard.

Simon.
