Do a 'dead mans walk' pretend you've been hit and walk from the field without raising your hand. Once past the opposition let rip, but you need ***** a steel for this trick as the likelyhood is that everyone will spray anything that moves.

Put plenty of thin layers on esp arms & legs, the paintballs cause more pain in cold weather as they need a harder impact to explode, 3 thin layers cushions the impact better than 1 thick one

Used to play a long time ago, home ground was the one in chessington.
Undefeated in about three years, played for Surrey one of the guys used to hire us a red London bus to travel in, made an interesting spectacle packed with over 40 people dressed in cammo gear.

Wear some thick layers under the overalls that they'll give you. It doesn't hurt that badly although try not to scream like a big girl if it does sting
Wear gloves and a beanie (or something that will cover your lugs). As others have said it does sting if you cop one on the ear or fingers.
There should be no head shots, but NEVER EVER remove the face masks or goggles. I've seen someone hit on the cheek and an inch higher and they would have easily lost an their site. Have fun and a laugh, but protect your eyes at all times.

Wear propper boots or something that will grip in the mud - trainers will not get you up a bank and out of a stream
If you get hit, but the ball doesn't explode and leave any paint on you...your OK - carry on, if in doubt get a marshall to check (although some lazy sods will say your dead regardless).
Don't shoot people out of your range, unless you want to intimidate them (never going to work..they'll just stay in their hidy-hole)
A moving target is a hard target
Make sure your gun is actually firing paintballs and not just air!
Somebody will have to run with the flag...it may as well be you (everybody thinks someone else will do it - wusses)
Feet are targets...a shot foot = a kill (handy with barracades that don't cover feet )
You will get wet and muddy, so don't be squeemish...get on your hands a knees and crawl through that mud bog!
Have fun
