New Labour: Today
Four-words "No Boom and Bust"!
Tony Bliar promised to spend more of "other people's money" earlier today, when he announced that should New Labia get a third term he would increase the holiday pay overheads of small firms by up to 40%.
Anxious to gain the illegal immigrant worker/asylum seeker vote, Princess Tony decided to force businesses who are struggling to survive, to pay for an extra 8 days holiday a year - for which the costs are already increasing due to the rise in the minimum wage.
"Well, y'know, we try our very best to spend whatever it takes to gain votes, but mere tax just isn't enough. Thus we decided to target anybody who actually generates revenue for the UK and screw them further. Of course, we still get the extra income tax on those new 8 days holiday, so it is a win-win situation for May the 5th!" he confidently said.
Adding - "We are thinking of bunging aging MX5 drivers a couple of hundred quid as a one-off bribe as well. Anything to get enough votes to make me President of Europe!"

I assume you mean this story.
Unsurprisingly for someone on this site, you have grossly miss-represented the story. And equally unsurprisingly it has ****-all to do with immigrants, who can't vote anyway.
M
The prime minister announced the plans which will benefit two million workers currently forced to take bank holidays off as part of their annual leave.

Oh great, more fuc#ing expense to my company, should her highness be re-elected! If hes so keen on holidays, then that c#nt should pay for them.
More expense on businesses, as if things are not bad enough.

I will abstain once again, if these people insist on telling lies and and spouting Bull S**t they do not deserve a vote. If any Party did what they promised the people would have faith, but sadly they do not. How about bringing the Term down to one year, if they seem to be faulting we vote again.

Some people will never be happy. Blaming other people sometimes takes the edge off of a dull and insignificant life don't you think

For a start theyre going to impose limits on immigration - that alone should make them worth voting for over Labour.

I blame the level of education kids have received from all previous governments. It's a sad day when a lot of immigrants probably have better command of the English language than you display in that post.
It's people who hold idiotic and knee-jerk opinions, like you spout, who are the real reason this country isn't as great as its title suggests.

thank you for your reply, as it describes precisely what my original "spoof" New Labia press release was all about.
Tony is now basking in the glory of what appears to be a huge new (potential) benefit for "up to two million low paid workers" (and that means really low pay, not PSL's less that thirty-five grand) - and hoping that he will get more votes in May. However, such a move will devastate small businesses - probably putting hundreds of thousands of "really low pay" workers out of a job, thus making hospitals even more dirty, closing more shops and post offices and moving even more jobs to India and the like (who don't have minimum wages or paid holidays).
Well done Princess Tone - you are a beacon for the World to follow

What's the minimum number of days paid leave a company has to provide for a full time worker, 20?
If these workers are forced to use 8 of these for public holidays, that leaves 12 days - barely enough for a 2 week holiday.
I don't subscribe to some of the more extreme employment laws in e.g. France, but I don't think 20 days leave PLUS public holidays is expecting too much in a civilised country.
The future of this country is in hi-tech and services anyway, not trying to compete with the likes of China in cheap manufactured goods.
Gary.
