Another unsung hero in this is Sheriff John Bunnel, I love his invective filled commentary. If I had the chance I'd love to pop a cap in that concha.

The pimp looked shaky on his feet long before he was slapped !
The Slapper (not to be confused with the girl in the Pink) would be arrested if this happened in the UK and charged with assault !

That is Master Jay Lee - he is one of the Kuk Sool Masters and the video is actually quite old now. I like the way they generalise all martial arts under the heading 'Karate' Nevermind.
Kuk Sool teaches a number of techniques and one such technique is pressure point strikes. Master Lee used such a technique with a backfist to Gech-chew-in (spelt as it sounds) the pressure point around the temple. As you can see the distruption from a well place pressure point strike to the bodies systems is rather effective

the fella that did it in that clip apparently got in a bit of sh*t for that incident, not for what he did, but for what he didnt do.

Master Lee did not get into **** for that, he was highly regarded for the manner in which he dealt with the situation. He calmly approached the guy and asked him to stop beating on the women. He then ignored the guys taunts until such time as it was beyond all reasonable doubt that he'd have to defend himself. He then selected a quick disabling technicque to put the guy down. My instructor struck my temple when demonstrating that technique with about 1/20th the force and even at that it gives you quite a shock.
Jay Lee showed great reserve in dealing with the situation - he could have easily caused massive amounts of damage to any part of the pimps body and as a 6th Degree Kuk Sool master I can also assure you he'll know the 'death techniques' as well

Don't know where the brachial nerve is but I heard about it directly from my 3rd Degree instructor who spoke directly to Master Lee at a demo - my instructor then demonstraited the technique to us and he was striking the pressure point just around the temple. A similarly effective technique is a ridge hand strike to the neck but this can (sometimes) have more dire consequences.
No matter: he knew what he was doing and rather effectively nailed the guy. I'd always thought it was a backfist he used but when you look at the video it looks like it might have been a reverse palm strike - hard to tell.
