I can't decide - 30k-35k (ish) to spend.
03 M5 - .... erm perfect?? - makes the space shuttle seem like a wannabe
400 BHP 05 Scoob STI type UK (with bits)- ride like a breeze block, performance that makes your ***** tingle, noise like heathrow on a busy day.
OR - BM 330 - quick, civilised, 25k??
btw - My dearest little daughter (6) came home after a 2 hour thash in the scoob and told Mum "We passed some grey haired old ladies at one four zero in the scoob and they looked like they had **** themselves"
For sheer thrills the scoob is years ahead. For getting somewhere the 330 will blat along at 130 (erm - thats KPH - honest) - The M5 can be described as 'quiet speed' - Can someone bung me another 70k so I can get them all?

The M5 is one of those cars that you look at the speedo & go "****" & lift off the loud pedal
Totally amazing & has every comfort you desire ![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
The 330 though quick as it is its still not 'M' Class is it ?

i know i know - the scoob is the fun car - mind bending with it - the guy was claiming 60 in under 4 seconds - dunno if that is reliable, but we managed 0-100-0 across B&Q car park after it closed
- The 330 is a quick quick car - not on terms with either of the others, but still very rapid.
The M5 flashes past the ton in 3rd and you still think you are on the safe side of 30.
OK - I want the scoob really, but at 33k it is an expensive collection of squeaky bits

Of those, the scooby. Everyone knows driving a BMW turns you into a tosser ![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
If I could choose in that budget, I think Ian Litchfield would be getting a phone call
Not as much power as that scoob, but all the new car lovliness like a waranty and the engine will last longer too..

Same problem here: M3 (E46), MY05 STi PPP, S203, Type 25, or Audi S4?
The M3 is well put together but quite cramped inside and the manual box is terrible, I've not driven the S203 yet but understand that the S202 was very raw so it may not be the best bet as I do 30,000 miles a year! Everyone has an STi PPP, the S4 is "nice" but dead to drive, well built again though. I guess I'm talking myself into a Type 25.
BTW I had an M5: great car, v. fast but doesn't feel it. The main problem is that it is too heavy and you are just too likely to get nicked (I lost 6 points in it) because you don't realise how fast you are really going. It had to go before my license did.
I have a chipped 330d at the moment - I too made the mistake of thinking that it would be a good compromise - needless to say it's up for sale - no grin factor and I can't live with a 4000rpm rev limit.

Hate to say it but that S203 looks like a resprayed and slightly chavved up STI, especially with that touring-car style rear spoiler. Those who aren't Subaru enthisiasts would probably think similar.
Get an S401 if you want something rare, exclusive and fast
