bloody unreal
According to the site:
I did the standing version (no rest footrest was NOT available)
I'm not normally one for mad heights, but I though sod it.. left the missus-who didnt want to do it and kid queing for a smaller safer ride.
- kid is only 8 so no way for the Apocalypse![Nono](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/nono.gif)
Queue'd for a bit.. lots of people bottling it as you can see it close up as you q.
Got told by a young teenage boy and girl to avoid the 'back row' as someone had lost their bladder on the run they were on with them![EEK!](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/eek.gif)
They even had a mop in the corner!!!!
No backing out now.
Stomach in knots.- had LOTS of adrenalin yesterday on track in my own car, also in an expertly driven scoob as a passenger and a load of PAX laps in a 360CS on maximum attack
..
)
didnt even have time to scream.![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
was the biggest fix of the weekend.
an utter moment of freefall madness..
QUALITY![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
If you put/let your kids on this be VERY VERY careful what you feed them/let them drink beforehand

According to the site:
Named as "Britain's scariest ride" by The Sunday Times....
Ride Of Your Life
Takes riders to a height of 54 metres and tilts them forward at an agonising 20 degree angle as they are hoisted skyward on a half ton launch shuttle.
Then they drop at the mercy of gravity at over 4Gs
There is also a Fifth Dimension to the ride, with no footrest at all – so real thrill-seekers can hang from 54 metres with nothing to hold them but their shoulder restraints!

I thought it was worse.. ![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Much MUCH worse
(ie: scarier than oblivion)
(I think because you could see it all rushing up to you, and as you can probably tell I dont do well with heights)

just had a look; there is a new ride at alton towers called RITA- queen of speed..
peak velocity is 4.7G!!! OMFG
![](http://www.towerstimes.co.uk/history/construction/rita/ritarl/rita1.jpg)
also the site says the oblivion is 4.5G - so more than the above ride.. wierd.. apocalypse certainly seemed worse/faster.. mind you- had visual clues to the speed of decent.
Apparently there is an even faster coaster coming to Thorpe Park this summer

the point of schools is keep kids busy while you go to such places.....missing the point if you go when the kids are there!

Ah good old theme parks
Best time to go is during a weekday when its raining lol.
Never queued more than 10 mins for Oblivion. You go past some points up to entrances where it says 2 hours queue from here![Cuckoo](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/cuckoo.gif)
Ive heard of people queueing for 3 hours and more for some rides at AT
Madness!
Will have to take a run up there in the next few weeks, not been for a year.
