Bl**dy mobile speed camera vans
Hi,
Could someone please help put my mind at rest.
Keeping it breif:
Drove past a mobile speed camera van parked on the opposite side of the dual carriage way. Think i may have been over the 60 limit.
Can the camera van (which had orange lights on top if that helps) catch me if even it is on the opposite side? I thought maybee it can only detect vehicles approaching its rear doors?
Best of all i want even in the scoob, but in my mums crappy fiesta.
Darn it!
What is it these days 60 quid and 3 points?
Andy

Was on the A51 to rugely. Just before right turning for weston.
Best of it was i saw the blo*dy thing but was too busy thinking about whether it had got me to check my speed. Think i must have been doing 70ish. Oh poo. Sit tight for 14 days then eh. Thats the last time i go home that way. Makes you think though cos i have been lucky upto now.
I would never speed in a 30 or 40 or 50 but Im not gonna lie i must admit i put my foot down on the open dual carrige ways and motorway.

Just as importantly are the traffic facing speed cameras Eastbound on the A14 between the A1 and the M11 switched on at the moment. If so I think I'll have notched up my first ever points in 20 years of motoring

A laser jammer is a device that, as it says, *jams* the laser signal from a laser speed gun in such a way that the laser device gets a false reading. It Should give you time to slow down to *legal* speeds before they can get another reading. Of obvious benefits but dubious legality. It helps if you have a garage door also operated by said device ....
As for mobile traps go here http://www.ukspeedtraps.co.uk/
Basically they can be various forms. The most common is probably the cop car with the driver using the old hair dryer (like on the M4 last night at 9-15pm ... gits). Or they may have a mini-gatso on a tripod. Or they'll have the scamera vans - with the camera pointing out of a back or side window at the criminal ... sorry, motorists, coming their way. But only in accident blackspots mind ......
Please bring on the whip even though I've been good miss ......

Not true, I have a Jammer (LRC100) which is working fine, Came round a bend on the M4 to find the Ice cream van on a bridge. Jammer went off, so did the road angel, So I was being lasered, Dropped speed down to 70 But still recieved a Nip in the Post for 94!!!!! which was spot on with the speed I was doing.
Mind you I did manage to drag out paying them for 6 months

that A51 is a dual carriageway but it is a "60" road, they sit on the lights either side and also just as you go out the "40" into the "60" they are sat there(to stop you putting ya foot down from the lights!)they do also go futher up aswell, and also on the single carriageway towards stone.....i try to stop going that way and go on the M6.........but can always guarentee the free flow of traffic....tez
