New bedroom light
Just got back from 2 weeks holiday to find that the local council have seen fit to erect a street light right outside my house in front of my bedroom window (well, at the end of the front garden but you know what I mean).
Surely they have to give notice to do things like this? I tell you what, some poor council worker is going to get a reet bollocking come Monday morning and if it isn't gone by the end of the week I'm going to use the Forester to pull it down

No need to shoot it, just boot it, hard, in the middle of the night and it'll go out.
Much more satisfying
Used to do this as a kid with mates, childish I know Never figured out why it worked though.

If you look around the bottom of the streetlight there is a panel which opens ( try shorting out the light ) it isn't affecting any other neighbours but don't take out the electricity supply to your street that would drop me completly in the dog poo.

Already e-mailed the street light dept of the council asking about the complaints procedure and the person to speak to, also tried to find out who my local councillors are but the council website isn't working properly

By your description I thought it would've been Right outside your window....that has to be about 12 - 15 metres away ? get blackout blinds, get used to it , its not worth the raised blood pressure.

Just seen the pics and TBH I dont see what the fuss is about. The light in question must at least be 30-40 foot away from you. If youre worried about sleep, as above use proper thick curtains and you wont see any light
On the plus side, at least theres some light on your drive which *may* be a deterrant to any thieves that may be about.
The only bad thing I can think of is if you wanted to widen your drive at some point in the future, assuming that horticultural mess, I mean bushes are yours.
Is this a NIMBY thing?
