The guy that started it all made more than £1 million in 6 months. So many stupid people willing to pay for rubbish.
All you need to do is buy a little piece of software and you can do it all for yourself........
I'd not be bothered if they were any good, but they are not. I just do not get them. Who the h*ll would want one of those as a ringtone. *boggles*.
Anyway, nuff of ranting, time for more beer.

as much as you can hate it, its become memorable to everyone - which is in turn good advertising in terms of getting thru to everyone. Just gotta make something less crap.
what ***** me off is it started with the frog, which i thought would die out, but they only keep it going and turn it into a music single coming out next week

The guy who actually created the frog as far as I am led to believe by my mate was actually a norwegian student who went to my local University. He was studying some form of computer animation and the frog was his project. My mate claims that he saw the original animation before it was released to the big bad world when he started his course!

Ive heard he's norweigan too, i saw something about this on tv, it was never anticipated that it would go this far.
I think it comes down to being mainly teens that buy the tones, causing massive business for all the companies. cant see them going away anytime soon either

I dont understand the economics of it really, how much does all that advertising cost, surely there cant be that many people that want their phone to play that, its on every advert break, must be cheap to advertise on Sky.
Out of all of them I find the Dragon the most risible, especially when it moonwalks.

The key to the success of this business is the fact that it's a subscription service that's not advertised as such and it's not easy to unsubscribe from, although saying that the adverts on so much now that everyone should have read the 'unsubscribe' message.
Thousands of kids spending £3.00 a week on a silly ringtone that's cheap and easy to deliver is good business.

Hmmmm....I have a plan....complain to offcom that the T&C's of the service are not clearly laid out in the advert and the fact it is a subcription isn't clearly shown or in large enough print to read on a 14" TV (portable )
Should pull the plug for a few weeks if enough people complain
