Theoben do make section one air rifles... but unless yours has had illicit "tweaks" it shouldn't be one!

Grr, just do what I did ..
Buy a 2nd hand gunpower stealth, buy a 19 inch theoben barrel (can be expensive)
Get a hammer machined in heavy brass and open the valves 'top hat' fully.
First time I shot a pidgeon with it, the bird just exploded into a cloud of feathers.
Tad over the legal to say the least.

Hello
As above, anything above 12ft IS a class one firearm. Not wishing to be negative about the police, but you are an easy target to up their statistics i.e. they have caught a potential criminal with a firearm (the fact it is an airgun is irrelevant).

This takes me back; had a HW80K ages ago - that was break barrell. Had it somewhat tuned, which was great but it was noisy as hell. Had a silencer, but that just looked cool more than anything...

That and the fact an air rifle at 30ftlbs will kill at long range!!!
It becomes lethal very soon after 12ftlbs and range and accuracy increase so it can easily become more accurate over 100m than an MP5.
If it is running at 30ftlbs mate you have a decision to make, either get it sorted or risk getting arrested for firearms offences which can lead to a mandatory 5 years, whatever the mitigating circumstances!!!

Theoben 'Rapid' rifles can be made to deliver 30lbs (usually in .25" cal.) but they are only manufactured to order for FAC customers. If you tweak it then it may make 18lbs, but then; so will my old BSA Super Meteor with a drop of 3in1 oil...
Under no circumstances will a 30lb .22"/.25" air rifle be as effective as a 9mm carbine firing from a closed bolt, and the accuracy is marginal. As a comparison; the muzzle energy is a fraction of that produced by a .22LR rimfire rifle.

However are you saying that at 30lbsft an air rifle can shoot 100m (300+feet)!!! I am amazed at that.
