Just a little note; I have been filling with Shell Optimax for over 5 years and only a little while ago I found out about the Shell points scheme... Doh...

Yes, I know what you are thinking... but I fill up, pay the nice man and go...

I have got some old receipts still and was wondering whether I shoud write to Optimax proving this...

However, if you fill up Shell Optimax... its worth a thought.

 

I didn't know about that either. What do you earn by collecting points ?

 

you earn one point for every litre of fuel you buy, when you get to 1500 points you have a £10 gift voucher

 

I have done it for about 2 years. Got about £30 back so far. I think last time I worked it out it is worth 0.6p per litre, so your not missing much.
Nice to get a tenner back now and then though.

Yeah i agree the return aint much but if you fill up with Opitimax anyway get a card. I must nearly be due my 1st £10 LOL

 

I applied for a shell card a few months back - then within a few weeks they sent me an Optimax card..... obviously a good customer unfortunately.

 

You can use the Optimax card if you fill up with diesel to, not in the scoob obviously, but if you have another car.......you know what I mean

 

pretty much useless in terms of real value ... but i use mine on magazine subscriptions that i wouldn't ordinarily spend money on.

 

Cashed mine in the other month for £100 of Halfords vouchers. Very handy since I'm fixing up the house. I believe that you get extra points for filling with Optimax, and even more for achieving certain amounts each month. Shell credit card = points
Points card = points
Use Optimax = extra points

Since Feb 04, a total of over 49000 points, about £320 worth.

 

mention the previous recpiets to the staff in your shell garage - mine added the points on with no quibbles

 

Over the past couple of years I've had over £400 of vouchers....if you use a Shell Credit card to pay for your Optimax that also credits your points account every quarter with further bonus points

Just checked my account - 21,900 points.... only 600 more to go for another £150 of vouchers
