What chance do we have; theyre more likely to give it to Madrid when Spain (Barcelona) only hosted the games a few years ago.
Its like the World Cup; we invented the b*stard game but theyd sooner give the competition to a disgusting dangerous third world ****e-hole like South Africa than us; even Mexico hav had it twice in the time we've been (wasting our time) trying to get ti back.

Don't want it, am hoping Paris get it. Come on you Frenchies!!!
Waste of money and we'll be paying for it for years to come. With all the problems in this country you'd think they could spend the money elsewhere better.
What gets me is all this 'well sort out the public transport' bollox. If they can't do it for us - the paying millions who've lived here for years then why and how can it all be so easy for those few who will visit for a couple of weeks in 2012? Give us decent transport anyway! To$$ers.

If Red Ken is still Mayor by that time (and I can't see Londoners suddenly deciding he is a menace any time soon, regardless of what he does), it will be an unmitigated disaster. He can still do a fair amount of damage by the time he is up for re-election, let alone if he's still around by 2012.
London probably can't cope with all the extra people as it is, let alone after a few of Ken's hare brained schemes have fecked everything up. No doubt he will also raise the Kengestion Charge to 20 quid, or more, to pay for these lunatic schemes.
Give it to Paris, it's only a ride on the Eurostar away from London.

No, we dont want the bloody Olympics, we cant afford it. And NL will make a total ballsup too. Lets just watch it on TV.

Give it to the French. Let them have the huge debt that goes with it. By that point they'll probably want to stuff the Euro if they haven't all ready and pull out of the EU (wishful thinking

What typical whinging Pom attitudes. Concorde and probably the original Wembley Stadium were also financial disasters. They were still much loved icons of Britain.
Let's drag up the Concorde threads and see the vitriol against the accountants taking over the world, then compare it with the above.

, every nation was in awe of it and if we didn't claim it as our own the bloody french would sure have. The Olympics is ok if you're any good at that sort of thing but as a nation we've consistently shown that a few individuals aside, we suck at sport. Therefore why would we want that humiliation on our own doorstep?
