Bridge/tunnel tolls
Went over the Dartford crossing last week on a saturday at around 3pm and queued 7.5 MILES to the bridge, ..................only to discover that what was causing the tailback was the tolls!
And that, at a bridge that has paid for iself, but they couldn't possibly scrap the tolls as "they need the money to pay for maintenance".What utter bollox!
And then we have the Humber bridge
People living on the south bank often have to travel to Hull for medical care, or to visit those in medical care, at a return crossing rate of nearly £5. No reductions. But if you're crossing to visit someone in Hull prison, you go, and return, for free!
But will the government write off the debt? Will it FEK!!
Too busy writing off £35 million debt to Tanzania, so their president can order a new £30 million private jet! And preparing to write off even more.

The Tamar Bridge was paid for in the 70's !! There is absolutely NO reason to have any bridge/tunnel tolls anywhere in the country. Abolish the lot and solve a lot of congestion.
Oh no, I forgot. Whilst you were doing the equivalent of 2 gallons to the mile sat in the toll queue the gov. was raking it in from fuel tax ........

It costs £1 each way, unless you're towing a trailer, then it's £2 each way, unless you're a 44 tonne artic towing a trailer, then it's only £1 again!!!
Apparently it paid for itself at those same tolls about three (???) years ago, but they couldn't take the tolls off entirely as it needs money for maintenance, so they kept the same tolls and now are RAKING it in!!
And the fekkin Humber Bridge takes just about enough each year to pay off the interest on the debt, but never pays off any of the debt, so the interest is back on again.................
