Default Car advice (mot) needed!!

Having sold my Audi to fund a forthcoming house move hopefully this year. i also have a cheap Vauxhall sat on my drive so i thought i would use that to get me about but here is my predicament. I took it for an M.o.t. and as expected it failed, now the necessary repairs will cost over £300 and this plus having to re-tax the vehicle because it has been off the road for 8 months will mean it will cost me the best part of £500 in total just to get a car on the road that is not worth £500 Do i put up and pay it or do i spend a little more - say £1000 on a better car which already has an mot and tax on it. If my car was worth a few quid i would not flinch but i feel i am paying over 100% of the cars value just for a years motoring as i intend on getting something a little special next year!

ta very much!

Scrap it and find something else with a year's tax and MOT for £300. It can be done - I drove a £250 '78 VW Polo for 3 years!

Take it to a dealer like reg vardy or somewhere like that, thay might give you £1000 trade-in value for it, with or without mot. Then you can go get that new scoob you have always talked about.

a female.

as for the car, sell it to some chav on a council estate. Just plaster it with max pooer and fast and furious stickers and dont forget the neon washer jets.
Small investment and you can sell it for thousands- especially with a peco big bore exhaust and bubbly window tints

Im currently running bangers to save money for a proper car at a later date. I would flog it for whatever you can get for it, or weigh it in for scrap then buy something else. My last 2 cars I have bought for auction. both cavaliers, first cost £100, current cost £200, both M-reg, good condition with several months MOT. all I need to pay is the tax.
Disposable motoring really.
