I have never been and do not plan on going, does anypone else have any similar experiences or stories when not carp fishing or even whilst on the way to fish for carp and never made it?

dont see the point in any type of fishing whatsoever, although i get the impression that fishing involves actually fishing, and carp fishing is just lazing around. why not just go and sit in your back garden in a tent with beers. surely thats called camping

Course it's true CS. That's why we Southamptonites call the folk from Portsmouth 'Skates'. They're all at it down there. At least, the sailors used to be at it

Is it not a bit on the rough side? I might have to give this further investigation, I've got a fridge here at work,and theres a fishmongers just up the road. I'm always on the lookout for ways to relieve the boredom of the working day

bang on mate, i think the carp bit is just an excuse to justify the stella, slothing, and getting wasted part of it all my kinda day !

I don't think I could be @rsed lugging a load of fishing gear down to some rat infested river bank to do it though, I think I'll just stick to sitting in my easy chair in the back garden
