Default Dilemma

I earn enough money but never buy anything on finance other than a house. I am however very bored of the scoob and want another car but can't think of anything else to get that is half as good for similar money. But now my Dad has offerd to pay half the cost of any car up to 25k Provided I sell the scoob and bike and get something less 'council estate' than a scoob namely a Merc BMW audi etc. I could arrange this so it happens in winter so I won't need a bike anyway but it seems like I am selling my soul to the devil in a strange way as I like hooligan machines On the other hand I would also like an M3 or M5 and would effectivly get one for 12.5k. At almost 27 I am to old to get family handouts but on the other hand I get 12.5k in cash. What you any of you do in the same situation and is there somthing emascualting about haveing your dad pay for most of your car ?

Why not get Dad to stick £12.5k into paying off your mortgage? Better idea, y'know.

Take your dad's money and get what he wants you to....you sound fed up with the scoob any way.

As long as you can still get to buy the car you REALLY want when you're grown up

That is a top class plan but I am not really into being dishonest with family. I did think of pretending to sell the bike and keeping it in my girlfriends garage though.
I spent a day driving an elise on the track and did really think afterwards that I have to get one but not practical to have unless you have another car as well. I am not yet ready to give insurance companies that much cash.
