Question Long or Short on the FTSE?

Do people think that over the next 6 months it would be better to be long or short on the FTSE all share? I'm not planning on placing a bet, by the way, but I might move some cash into an index tracker. I wish I'd had the money just before the election...

Hmmm....

Maybe I'll just carry on with my small buying strategy, then. I guess relatively small movements don't actually make that much difference in a long term investment, but obviously it's better to buy low where possible.

you give money to a fund, the fund's computer buys shares in an attempt to reflect the make-up of a particular stock index. If the index goes up, your investment goes up. If the index goes down...
